Orange juice has a reputation. Somebody needed fancier fruit.

The Cocktail grapefruit (or mandelo) is a sweet, low-acid hybrid of a Siamese pummelo and a Frua mandarin, offering a juicier and less bitter alternative to traditional grapefruit. Grown in California, this yellow-skinned fruit is ideal for fresh-squeezed juice in cocktails like the Hemingway Daiquiri, Paloma, and gin-based drinks.

What I find amazing. We who shop and regular chain stores expect to view just one kind of grapefruit or say Bok Choy yet a visit to one of many Chinese supermarkets in my hood and one can find 10 different types of Bok Choy as well as 50 other veggies and fruits I never see anywhere else.
I have yet to see the small grapefruits. I have not tried the larger ones in like two decades.

Bok choy isn't a typical ingredient of western cooking though, so it makes sense that there isn't much selection in general grocery stores. Like maybe a Chinese-American born to Chinese immigrants wants to make a traditional dish for their kids, or a regular American just wants to try cooking an Asian dish, they might just use whatever is at the regular grocery store because it's convenient. On the other hand, if you actually grew up in Asia and want to make a traditional dish, you're not gonna settle for the wrong type of bok choy because you can taste the difference.

If you get a sweet one, an actual Florida ruby red will probably be better. Unless their going for the cotton candy sweetness.
