Megalondon

The tooth of megalondon was discovered by a Fisher in Cape Town. Then the American scientist went to South Africa to see this. After he also saw a megalondon on a satalite at Brazil's ocean. But unfortunately he did not finish his research because the director of Environmental protection and Natural Resources of South Africa banned him because he thought this discovery was a propanganda. This whole page is riddled with gold, but a lot of it is in conversations and trying to pick it out of context doesn't work so well. Highly recommend reading for yourself if you've got nothing else to do. Also apparently tc's dereferer doesn't handle the # properly. We'll see if the admin will fix that.

Maine!

I live in maine and there was a mysterious dog/rodent sighting when it got hit on route 4 in turner, Maine it was supposedly hit by a car as it was chasing a cat across the road no game wardens would come to see it and told cmp to pick it up. I think it is a part werewolf part rat part coyote alot of people said it was a dog or wolf hybrid or a chow with a long dewclaw. It is not an alien but it is a new Maine legend. I spotted and heard the creature and then got very dizzy and passed out but the last thing i heard was a very blood curdling screech and then another and hissing and then a gurgling sound then rustling in leaves then it all went black. When i came to i had claw marks all over my left arm and the plastic bat i was holding had 2 circular bite marks 6 or 7 inches apart now i never go outside at night and when i fall asleep on the aneversary of the night it happened i hear the sounds that i heard that night in my head and i hear hundreds of people sreaming that all ended up as a screech and a gurgling sound just as i heard the night it attacked me. Has anyone associated the Chupacabra with the Book of Revelation?

Does anyone know if there has been an association of the Chupacabra with the those creatures mentioned in Revelation 9:3-12? The most common descriptions of this creature seem to have similar characteristics to those mentioned in the Bible. 70.19.135.200 01:20, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I would like to see a section added for 'other stories,' or 'local perspectives.' In my hometown of Holyoke, MA in the U.S., the story goes that the Chupacabra was a governmental experiment into genetic engineering gone wrong - a pair of laboratory animals are said to have escaped into the wild, where they began breeding and spreading across the world, mutating into several different forms as they encountered new enviornments. There are said to be aquatic versions and flying versions as well as the reptilian and dog-like ones. The stories people tell locally are just as interesting and important to document as the ones that garner national media attention. 128.205.135.184 16:25, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

In 1994 we were driving in central Baja California on a long, straight dirt road off of Highway one. Along a particularly featureless and flat section, we passed what appeared to be a mummified goat (teeth exposed in a horrible grin) propped up at the side of the road, just off the road. After driving on about a mile, we flagged down our friends driving just ahead of us, and the first thing they asked was "do you want to go back to photograph the goat?". I said yes and we drove back. The goat was gone. The desert in this area was flat and there was no cover for the goat or anyone manipulating a goat carcass to hide. We spent twenty minutes trying to find the goat, up and down the highway for several miles past where we first saw it. It was gone. 131.215.115.31 21:36, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

This kind of reads like some of those AI threads that have been posted recently, except this is from 2009. Also nobody ever went to the effort to fix the unsigned comment so the world may never know the IP or username of this oddball.

Human needs and gravity strength or earths status itself

Humans have a lot of needs, obviously. When we need something, we go out and get it. It can be one individuals needs, or even a whole demographics of a nation. Needs, like to help us maintain ourselves. To be decent in lifestyle. To acquire the various needs of humans, and other species that serve humans, we need a cycle. A habit, to maintain ourselves.

One mass production of human needs is the technology. The way we acquire base metals, and precious jewelery for our bodies. We invent enormous machines that weigh over tons, and relocate enormous amounts of weight to get to the element that we are interested in. Thus, the webpage that explains the gravity, proves to itself that humans are indeed, creating a change on the surface of the earth, because we are changing the flow of gravity, via depleting oil reserves, mining out the precious elements that once were underground; which ultimately changes the weather as we know it, making it even more intense, faster and stronger.

Assuming the thickness of the earth crust and the 'humans' scratching the surface is not important, because of the whole density and weight, and layer makeup, is very dangerous in my opinion. Even the smallest change can have an enormous outcome in difference. Any feedback is welcomed, as I think we need to work together to get the big picture correctly in our mindset.

I tried to make this easier to read by indenting what I thought were the most likely "threads" since only the last 2 commenters bothered to indent their posts originally. Results may vary. (The first 2 paragraphs may or may not have been posted separately. The second para almost sounds like a new poster joining in, but I'm not digging through diffs to find out. The "Mermaid eggs become fish" line may also be a separate comment.)

Sexual Reproduction

Trying to find out how it is possible for a female mermaid and a male mermaid try to make a baby is very tricky to figure out. My opinion on it is that the female mermaid makes babies as a fish does. She lays eggs, and once the eggs are ready to hatch, they hatch. Because I see no other explaination other wise for it. Do you have a different popinio? Well, if you do, write it down here. I do wonder, though, if they can make a baby(ies) with other species.

Can anyone provide clarification in the article on how Mermaids and Mermen sexually reproduce and create off-spring? Do they engage in sexual intercourse similar to humans? or do they spawn like fish? Can a Mermaids only become impregnanted by a merman or can they mate with other species (i.e. humans) and become pregnant? This is a serious question and I would appreciate a serious answer. 68.160.109.172 06:59, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
That depends on the legend. In the one that I've heard, mermaids must seduce a man (human) while she is in human form. This is how little mermaids are made. I haven't heard of anything involving mermen. Val42 07:24, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Mermaid eggs become fish Mermaids bear mermaids as live young

This is just my own opinion... and assumption, as well as logic. Merpeople are like in stories told to be half woman, half dugong or whatever. Then, in certain paintings, they have been known to be like the conjoined leg people. Except the end of the leg where our toes and ankles would be, is actually a fish fin. Therefore they look like they have connected legs until the end of the ankle.

As for sexual reproduction, through this assumption I think it would be that they reproduce as men and women do. Thecutnut 09:21, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Or someone's committing bestiality... Thecutnut 05:28, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Male fish do not have a penis anyway. I don't think male merman (if real) could have sex in the same fashion as a human male. Male fish just spray out and cloud the area after the female fish lays her eggs from his milky-colored semen. I think the same would be for the mermfolk. It's kind of ridiculous to assume that if merfolk existed that their genitalia would mimic human genitalia. Just because they are human from the waist up does not mean they function sexually as a human from the waist down. Armoredavian 05:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
This is stupid. Why do u people waste your time acting like mermaids are real and that they can ACTUALLY reproduce. Come on, even a child knows that mermaids aren't real enough to reproduce. AND if im wrong, prove it. 71.10.253.162 20:59, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Your right, there is no way to prove that mermaids exist unless you actually have proof of its existance, an actuall living mermaid. You also couldn't prove that a rainbow was real if we never saw one, bears would never be real if we never saw one, germs would never be real if we never saw one. The fact is that people, like you, are so biassed against the idea of faith that the only way that they can beleive in something is if you actuall see it, however this beleif becomes based on faith also. For you must beleive yourself not insane to have these assumptions, you must beleive that you are actually living the life you are living to beleive anything. Because for all we know we might be a figment of someone's imagination and may only exist in their dreams.

So yes it is true that there is no proof of mermaids, but there is also no proof against the fact that their aren't any. As a matter of fact there is exactly a 50% chance of it being real or fake. So now I ask you, if mermaids are not real... show me proof.

Son of a muse 14:57, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Basically, I was thinking that like Armoredavian said, mermaids should be able to lay eggs, just like fish. Superjustinbros. 01:19, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
"Son of a muse's" comments support the idea that wiki editors should have to prove they have an IQ higher than 65 before they allowed to edit any articles. In all my years of reading rubbish on wikipedia I don't think I have ever read anything quite as stupid. Surely this is a secular form of Poe's Law at work and he's just pulling everyone's leg? I mean no one can really be that stupid, yes? There is a 50% chance that mermaids are real? Maybe he meant to post that on conservapedia, they go for that kind of "logic" over there. 199.233.178.254 17:59, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Well, mermen may not have dicks, but clearly encyclopediae do.

This has nothing to do with the section it was posted under. Sadly, this was a false prophecy as well.

Scalp

What I feel is that Yeti is nothing but the legendary myth of Lord hanuman. Now I am not a great believer myself but there have been many people who have received a photograph of Lord Hanuman by a person who claims to have clicked a photograph of a light coming out of a cave in the Himalayas and died after taking the photograph mysteriously. Lord Hanuman is one of the Chiranjeevs (Alive forever) in the Hindu myth - Ramayana.

He says to be waiting for the final avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu Kalki in the 21st Century to destroy the world. Apparently, it has been said that the avatar has already come on earth and the Mystery of 16th December 2012 - the total destrustion of Earth is to be done by him. —Sonichirag87 04:05, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

This guy actually posted the the same story several times over the course of a few years.

Yeti

i've tried to post this on the website, but it keeps being edited out. i just want to state that when i was in nepal in october/november of 2005, i trekked the annapurna circuit and the day after walking over the highest pass, i, and many of the other trekkers, saw 3 light gray apes (or large monkeys) scampering up the side of a steep field as farmers threw rocks at them, chasing them out of their grain field. none of the farmers seemed to act like it was particularly out of the ordinary, and i know that at least one scandinavian trekker caught it on his digital video camera. the apes were all about 5 feet tall, light gray, and very muscular, like an nfl defensive back or a world class sprinter, and they all bounded up the side of a very steep hill at an astonishing speed. i didn't see them walking upright, but the angle of the hill would have prevented a human from walking on two legs. in any case, i haven't seen any other record of large gray himalayan apes, other than the mythical yeti. i really want this to be on the record somewhere. —211.182.113.100 02:45, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
While that is certainly an interesting story, Wikipedia is not the place to publish it. Wikipedia has policies about original research, which can be read here WP:OR, which basically state that personal experiences aren't appropriate content for an article. Regards, ClovisPt 16:19, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
first, i want to say that it was 2004, not 2005 when i was there. sorry. i'm sure that probably puts my whole story in doubt in some people's minds, but it was just a mistake. the rest is as i described it. second, the entire history section is full of "personal reports". third hand, yes, but that's the only difference. i'm not a famous explorer and i didn't rush to the newspapers, but that shouldn't make my observation any less relevant.

But yes, as it is a completely undocumented siting, it is less relevant. —209.91.141.58 14:49, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
hey, it's me again. it may have been the arunachal macaque, which was "discovered" in 2005, despite being known about by farmers for raiding their fields. i don't know how big these macaques are, but it fits the behavior. the color's a little off, as is the large tail, which i don't remember seeing. —76.115.249.239 11:01, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
i really don't think they were, though, since i thought they were chimps when i first saw them. it's also not an undocumented sighting. i'm documenting it right the fuck here.

Artistic interpretations

i hiked the annapurna circuit in sept/oct 2004. about a day's walk after the thorong-la pass, a group of us saw some farmers chase 3 light gray apes out of their field and into a forest. l. jason brann 15:49, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Edit request on 11 December 2012

my name's jason brann. i'm a pretty reliable source, i guess, even though what i have to say may be surprising. i think i saw a yeti. 3, in fact. it was in nepal. 2004 or 2005. i could look it up, but i'm not going to right now. it was about early october. you can't go during the spring or summer cuz the rain and i wouldn't want to get caught in the himalayas in the winter. i have no idea about everest, but they'd gotten snowed out, so the trail was crowded with people who were planning on hiking everest but couldn't, so they decided to do this instead. i was a teacher in korea. i quit my job because this woman showed me pictures of the annapurna circuit and i needed a change. so i was about two weeks in, the day after the thorong-la pass, when i saw three light gray apes of some sort shooting up a maybe 15 foot rock face and disappear into the forest. apparently, they had been raiding a farmer's field. some kinda grain, i think, and they were throwing rocks or sticks and yelling at them, chasing them off. the apes were in tight formation, and very muscular, and my initial thought was that they were a family, since the one in the middle was a little taller, but all around 5 feet or so, but they moved identically, and fast, especially considering it was straight up. i'd say 20-30 mph. you see that sort of quickness in a squirrel going up a tree. the motion was hands grabbing on what looked like completely flat rock, then feet over hands together and then they bounded up the rest of the way. i wasn't the only witness. i think there were three or four farmers that i saw. one looked at me with a blank stare afterwards. i have no idea what he was thinking. there was my guide. he was excited, and said he'd never seen them before. there was this british guy, andy something, and his guide, and there were three or four north western europeans and they had a guide. i never talked to them because of the language barrier. i think one of the guides was named ali, but don't hold me to that one. i can't remember the other names. i think one of the guides used a fake name for english speakers that's just escaped me over the years. bob or something. anyway, it happened really fast. i'm sure if you took a traker back to the area you could find evidence. i mean, if you can climb around on those rocks to look for evidence. it's pretty precarious. you'd need expert mountain-climbers, i'd think, and probably some permits, but it's doable. so yeah, that's one of the coolest things that's happened to me.
