This is literally riding the wave of underground music industry becoming mainstream. Skrillex was making waves and pissing off OG Dubstep heads.

Hardcore breaks and breakcore cannot be surpassed in the realm of digital music composition. The chopping and layering of digital programs formed the ability to go in that direction. Everything else is derivative. But that really doesnt matter as minimal techno purists don't need to be so OCD.

The progress of bass music from UK dubstep not American bro-step (later riddim which I haven't listened to enough) could have been a little less formulaic.
