I feel so pathetic right now.

Basically, I got close with a girl at school around mid-2024. We knew each other since 2020 but were never really friends. Well, we eventually became friends. And, very fucking good friends. Hanging out every fucking other breath, chat messages probably weighing more than the Earth, going to school together and shit, like, the whole thing. She was (I should say "is" TBH) THE girl of my life... yet never actually mine.

Thanks to everyone who replied, including the "nobody cares" guy, cause that shit was free bump if anything.

Anyways, I am gonna clarify some things and continue the "lore"

Clarifications:

1. Me making sure I don't fall for her is like... confirmed. (IDK what the right word is) What I mean is, I am positive now that I won't fall for her. Not because I don't find her attractive or got myself someone else, but I have grown to adore (not like I ever wasn't) this platonic relationship of ours.

2. Me falling for her or not wasn't the actual point. The actual point will come later into the story (continued below) and TBH... it is probably even fucking pathetic.

Anyways, now the story...

So I got my friend X to finally DM her (albeit, it wasn't even DM, it was a group with the three of us because his pussy ass couldn't message her by himself) As I said before, we had a running joke that the girl and X are made for each-other and shit like that. And the guy was shy as fuck, so it was also kinda fun to tease him with it.

Anyways, now with the group, X got to know the girl slowly. And, during that time, I was chill with it. I had a mini crush on her but you know what, finally getting her a "proper guy" (my friend, X) sounded like an achievement I'd pat myself in the back for.

Eventually, his pussy ass managed to enter her DMs. She was my bestfriend, so obviously, I'd get daily screenies about their silly chats and shit. (Keep in mind, all three of us are teenagers during this time) It was honestly cute AF.

But then... a certain pattern would be noticed in how X would chat. We had a running joke like, "X and the girl are married and I am their lawyer" or however the fuck I am supposed to explain it in English. Me and the girl were completely, 100% certain that the joke was a... well, joke. But X's messages would hint that... he didn't think it was a joke. Obviously, he didn't think they got fucking married through social media, but he showed possessiveness towards her.

Ultimately, my end goal was to see them in an actual relationship and married at the later stages of life but hold the fuck on, they weren't dating yet. Yet X acted sort of like... they were...

The realization hit me about 2-3 weeks into our little group. We had grown pretty close. Everything was going well, but this wasn't supposed to happen. X and the girl aren't supposed to start dating yet. And, they actually didn't. But X thought so. Fuck.

Me and the girl discussed for hours about this shit and it was decided that, she wasn't going to break X's heart. We also had an upcoming important board exam, and shit like that would really fuck over someone's mental health. She was a sweetheart, and wasn't gonna let herself break the all innocent X's heart. Ironic AF, all she did her life was reject guys and break their hearts but oh well, this wasn't the same...
