After suddenly finding out that my parents got literally nothing saved up for me because my father shitted off all the money on some random whore he reunited with last year who he have known since his teenage times, i couldn't even figure out what to do anymore and got confused with my life like a retard. I have tried everything so I could keep surviving on my own. Even grinded on some ML related projects and a few research papers during high school, so that I would get a scholarship and continue my education for free, but failed miserably. I had everything planned out. Attending college, building those projects i have always been passionate about, graduate on the subject i always found interesting, and land a job on some chill company, live with tech... but got messed up unexpectedly way beyond saving. Been trying hard to get a job recently and handle my own financial burden, but its being not enough. I thought its the last thing i could go for. Asking strangers for money. I don't even know what to do anymore.

Only if the job field didn't ask for a bachelors degree besides the skills, I would've never worried myself about college/universities at all.

I even know the entire computer science resources and materials being available for free on github, still I've seen people with a professional certificate from a reputable institute having it easier than complete self learners. Also, socializing, networking, building connections around people with similar interests and presenting you and your knowledge in front of others is also a helpful opportunity an institute could offer.

i dont know how this works, how the loans work or if there's someone u can talk to about it. most people have to do the loan thing. thats ok. you have some debt. but who doesnt? especially if they went to school?? its manageable. i believe in u

That gives me hope, anon... it really does...

> i believe in u
i would cry... i have no words to describe how loving it sounds to me hearing some kind words after a long time.

> i dont know how this works
you don't need to know all that crap, i will figure it out on my own, i think reminding me about the loans was a pretty good thing, even though i might lose my freedom for that. But guess that's exactly what being screwed up means, ahaha!

Thanks.

I'd say start with community college for cheap gen-eds at least. You can even get technical certificates, which should in theory count for some basic classes on a regular degree, but in practice who knows.

Live in your car and you won't need to pay rent. I don't know why more students don't live in cars. When I was a student I did that. It was a choice, live in my car or not go to university.

This is really for OP - A person we call Cathy spent 10 years at a community college with multiple certificates and found it very difficult to get HIS first job. I Think and this applies to YOU OP - One needs to be driven by ones inner self. So much time will be spent on learning and my Dyslexic Self always did better learning on my own - Yes I got BSEE from UCLA and took courses at USC - US Gov and my employer at the time sent me and wife to MIT for two years. Just hated the single course I was sent to take - DESPISED That course so it made it hard for me to get the A that was necessary

Long story about that NOT for this thread NOW

OP you need to be interested in something for long term work. SO WHAT Do You really want to do work wise. What excites you.

Cathy never had a clue about what he wanted to end up doing. The job he got required no education at all - Yet he totally enjoyed the work and that is very IMPORTANT. I totally understand why he enjoyed that work because I as a teen working part time found just taking out the trash I created a delightful thing to end my work night.

Long winded cause my WORK which I would do for free re it was once my hobby as a child - Is like 21 hours a day trying to resolve a problem for a very new customer and KEY investor to the company, I now consult for. Several days with no sleep and need to Party HARD as all Fuck a few days ago makes this drivel possible
