Topic: Toxic Legacy Of 4chan
+Anonymous A — 4 months ago #68,094
Read an article that touch on the subject. I thought it was an a interesting read but between the person who wrote not knowing the full extent of the site and the various edge npc repeating the mantra "cope we're so back" there was no point of contentions found anywhere.

Can't really expect any sort meaningful conversations with those sub humans on that site or even here for that matter. Hell there was a 4chinfag here crying for /soc/ alternatives not too long ago.

This is one of the comments there legit people who believe in this shit:
""Toxic legacy"? People, have you looked at our world with a critical eye? Have you paid attention to your cities? Our world is toxic. Don't blame 4chan or relatively innocent 4chan users/content makers. I know there was questionable content, but that's just what you get for PERPETUALLY ignoring every atrocity going on in the world while keeping the evils of capitalism's excess going full-speed incompetence.
When you critics have fixed your country and made it live up to it's written principles of "liberty and justice for all", THEN you can criticize people venting or getting off on 4chan. Until then, were not working together as a team, now, are we?"
And heres somebody responding to that:
"Fight the flu with cancer until the flu admits it's wrong." Mmk. No, the race to the bottom isn't caused by toxicity, it's caused by people responding to toxicity with worse toxicity. E.g., "the Democrats did this thing (probably), so we're going to do it even more, that'll teach them!" and so a country dies. In short, the attitude you described isn't a good defense, it's literally the disease. But it's hard to be angry at you. You're describing a destructive coping mechanism: a literal mental disorder (in the clinical, not insulting, sense), one that is now endemic.

I never expect a meaningful conversation but at least an intelligent response. Most of it is "you don't anything know about 4chan!!!"
Its like yeah nobody with a functioning brain and emotional intelligence is going to a site that actively rots away intellect. I'd agrue even here if it weren't for the very selective few individuals that make it worth while to talk.

That's their go-to, default, all-purpose generic loser response. They dont understand that most people are indeed aware of atrocities going on in the world—however some are powerless to do anything about it, some dont care nor want to do anything about it(probably in the case of the guy who wrote that retarded loser slop) and some just dont see things the same and perhaps even benefit from it. literally they're just excusing themselves to be a shitty person because its much easier to be toxic than positive under the pretense "wah life is harddd" yeah no shit you put 1% of idiots in power that control a vast amounts of wealth.

sure. for all we know "liberty and justice for all" is a euphemism for "fuck niggers and snowflakes, and wokeness let us say whatever we want because we're allowed to talk shit and say what we want with no consequences"

probably the closest you're gonna get to an actual human with some sense but they're like 1 in 326,700,000 nowadays.

tc is alright at times but it has also shown the same problem and looking back at the older posts from 11+ years ago. I'd say it seems like some are finally get the message that practicing apathy and writing snide, bants or otherwise dismissing others isn't gonna get them the cool points they think they deserve. One thing to always keep in mind that I learned about online communities/fandoms as a whole (but specifically to the sub humans -1 braincell right wing posters) is that "they'll promote what you hate and demote what you love and when given the opportunity they'll amplify what makes you sick and muffle what makes you whole." people have tried to tell me otherwise but I know better.
