all other search engines just use bing which sucks as well
searching is dead on the internet. you can't even find old game walkthroughs anymore

Brave and Yandex have their own indexes
nevertheless, nowadays I either use ChatGPT for non-critical info, or get more explicit with the query tags

chatgpt at this point pretty much diffs on google in terms of inquiries. but depending on what i'm looking I use a mix of GPT, google/reddit and Stack Exchange. I barely ask actual humans questions anymore because 100% of the information is located between the aforementioned by the time I read the NPC reponse "thats what google is for"

If I'm looking for raw information, I do. If I'm looking for a recommendation, I ask people. I may still go to google afterwards if their solution doesn't suit my use case, but I still prefer word-of-mouth as my go-to.

Why does anybody actually need a search engine? Like what are people looking up? If you've been on the internet for a couple years you realize there's websites that probably cover everything. If it's for a job, then you work for a retarded company. I mean this is probably the reason search engines are just advert directories but still.

Currently looking for the best place/price to buy King Crab Legs AND found a place in city next door to me. Going today to check them out.
Cheapest would be Walmart however one past try and the stuff was the lowest of quality.

As someone who is almost older than God herself - I avoided Walmart after a neighbors daughter brought over her VCR to see IF I could fix it.
A famous name brand and one look inside and the problem was VERY Visible. A tiny what a you call it on a base plate perhaps 1/4 inch high stick up to hold a spring had broken off. With no welding equipment for aluminum and no easy way to just add a screw as a replacement post because it was near impossible to get to the back of that panel - I used employment connection to contact the factory to talk to the VP of engineering.
Shocked to find they had no part in the design or manufacture of that VCR. Company which was famous for VCR's gave away the name brand to some unknown Vietnamese company for a large fee. They only made VCR's for Walmart. From then on I said no way no how would I ever shop at Walmart.
Meta at mc shamed me for not even trying Walmart and when I did that King Crab with a price so inviting got me to...If only I had a clue Walmart policy re returns in super liberal. Have not been back since - Up super late trying to figure out a glitch in a Satellite that has NEVER EVER been seen in past of many years. Driving me NUTS. Cannot view innards until it passes over a tracking station and then for only 5-6 mins or so. Have to wait 16 to 24 mins for it to come to the next command and control stations - It's almost their so here goes.................>
