Topic: The Chinese president
+Anonymous A — 1.6 year ago #68,004
If Xi Jinping stopped wearing a suit, he wore a t shirt and jeans and he started cooking at some dive Chinese restaurant in manhattan, do you think anybody would notice? Because, if the president of China went missing, that would be news. But at the same time, if you’re an Italian American or you’re a Jewish woman, or even if you’re a black American, and you’re sitting at a Chinese restaurant, and you see a Chinese guy working the kitchen, who looks exactly like the president of China… you don’t want to get canceled if you’re wrong. You know what I’m saying? I’d imagine most Americans would just kinda accept that they’re probably just racist and can’t tell Chinese people apart and not say anything.

It’s not even like a Chinese thing. I mean, if I was at a Russian restaurant (do those even exist), and Vladimir Putin was serving as a waiter, I’d be like, "Oh, I’m racist against Slavic people. That’s that subconscious bias going on. Wow. I should not say anything about this."

Unless they can rule forever in the government, that will be their best disguise once they step down from their power.
