This is the difference between the blacks in South Africa and the Japanese:
Japan surrendered to the United States because the white people had nukes and the Japanese didn’t.
The whites who controlled Apartheid South Africa had nuclear weapons, and the blacks in South Africa didn’t, but the blacks still won anyway.
