Topic: Bushido

Idk why but for some reason I got the impression from listening to white people talk about history on the internet that Bushido was like some crazy version of masculinity where it’s better to kill yourself than it is to not win at everything all the time if you make one mistake because then you’ll be embarrassed. I thought it was some stupid shit like that. Then I googled it and found the Wikipedia page for it, Wikipedia says:
The essence of bushido was defined by Saitō Chikamori as:[1][53]
Sincerity – do not lie, do not be insincere, do not be superficial
Responsibility – do not be obsequious
Frugality – do not be greedy[1]
Politeness – do not be rude, do not slander
Modesty – do not be boastful, do not be arrogant
Loyalty – do not be unfaithful
Harmony – be on good terms with comrades
Tranquility – do not be overly concerned with events
Compassion – show concern for one another, be compassionate, with a strong sense of duty.
So basically, Bushido sounds like the bullshit your middle school guidance counselor would tell you about how you need integrity and responsibility because you didn’t turn in your homework for a week.

@OP
Or maybe I just have something against guidance councilors because they’d take me out of class when I was getting straight As in all my classes to say some condescending racially motivated bullshit about "my future."

Believe it or not my ancestors weren’t Japanese, so they didn’t follow it either. Although, I do do stuff that requires effort, it’s just I don’t really turn it into some values thing. I don’t have values, I just improvise it as I go along.

And when I say I don’t have values, if you ask me a question like whether I think lying is wrong, it really just depends on whether or not I like you and how I’m feeling that day whether I’ll saying lying is good or bad. Although I’m more inclined to say that lying is good under specific circumstances. Like if some Jew was hiding during the holocaust and you told the Nazis the truth, then you’re probably a dipshit, but if you scam people that’s also bad, so things depend on other things, so I don’t try to have values really. If that makes sense.

Did you just edit your post from "don’t worry" to "donut worry?"

At least generally in life I’ve found (despite what everyone says and despite what they drill into your head), I’ve found I generally trust people who don’t strictly follow the rules. Because oftentimes, when people say "the rules are the rules, there’s nothing I can do" the truth is actually, they can do something for you, they just don’t feel like it because they don’t like you. So (within reason), sometimes people who are less "honest" are more reliable.
