img-2025-03-03-05-34-39.pngThe 1980's
A period where most Americans were concerned and frightened by the looming threat of a communist takeover. Any foreign influence at all could've spelled the end of the American way of life. Especially foreign influence from the former Soviet Union (the CCCP), or better known as Russia. Due to both nation's new found focus on producing as many nuclear warheads as humanly possible. This sparked the concern that any sort of armed combat could trigger a catastrophic event on a larger scale than Chernobyl. This time period would forever go down in history as The Cold War, where both the Americans and Russian peoples competed to outdo one another in a variety of different fields and practices. Some even garnering conspiracy theorists at a later time. From medicine, science, politics, and the space race to conflicts through proxy wars. It is no doubt that Russia has been on of the United States' biggest enemies.

Today (2025 CE)
The American President, at the time of this writing, Donald J. Trump has been accused of sympathizing with Russian President, at the time of this writing, Vladimir Putin. What normally should be seen as an achievement of peace since the days of the Cold War is met with scrutiny and of course, controversy. The controversy being suspicions that Russian meddled in the affairs of the American federal government and civilian life. Mostly through election tampering. This should come as no surprise as this has happened before during the current American president's first term in office. The 2016 election is a highly contested debate concerning the legitimacy of the polling numbers. Regardless of any potential foreign influence, the question remains, what is the motivation to act against the U.S. so far removed from the years of 1947 to 1991? Is Putin attempting to reconstruct the former Soviet Union? Potentially using capitalism as its foundation this time around. This could explain the necessity of the ongoing Ukrainian conflict to them. However, why would President Trump be in favor of the restoration of America's former enemy? Then again, there are mock movements turning up within the U.S., as well as preexisting political parties, dedicated to making America communist.

So, my question to you is, with the shitshow that is the United States of America and the Russian Federation... is this some sort of diversion in order to restore the public's faith in communism? Did the Soviet Union win in the end?

@OP
Vladimir Putin was a KGB agent stationed in Dresden in East Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the USSR. He was a member of the communist party in the USSR and to be a member of the communist party you had to identify as an atheist. Although now, Putin is essentially a right wing Christian nationalist in terms of his outward presentation. I don’t think Vladimir Putin ever was a true believer in communism the same way I don’t believe he is a true believer in Christ. He wants to restore a Russian empire, what ideology doesn’t matter. In fact, the Russian contrition says Russia may not have a state ideology.

@previous (B)
The Bible says, "the love of money is the root of all evil." Bible also says, "it is easier for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven." On top of that, the Bible says, "Thou shall not kill." Marxism says that the proletariat should own the means of production.

Does any of that sound like Vladimir Putin’s Russia?
