Topic: The AfD

+Anonymous A6 months ago #67,509

The party Elon Musk was backing in Germany lost the election today to the Christian democrats and isn’t going to be a part of their coalition.

It’s still pretty close though. The AfD got 20% of the votes. But chancellor terms in Germany are 4 years so unless Trump gets a third term, Germany isn’t going to be led by the alt right for the remainder of Trump’s time in office. Although, the AfD was projected to lose to the CDU anyway, so it was kinda dumb for MAGA to bet on them winning in the first place.

nah, AFD has made pretty substantial gains each election, so unless the CDU suddenly decides to stop being a gargle of faggots completely during this term, the AFD will keep building, and by the time vance or whoever trump decides to be his successor steps up theyll be in an even stronger position. unless the german government succeeds in banning AFD under their fuck nazis rule, which will supercharge whatever comes next.

Germany has different laws regarding freedom of expression than the United States, so it’s not inconceivable that the AfD could get banned. From what I understand they chose not to pursue it before the election because the CDU was leading in the polls and they didn’t want talks about it to affect the election. Since the AfD has been ruled as extremist in court before in Germany, I’m not going to say it’s a sure thing, but the odds of the AfD getting banned aren’t zero.

Also Trump’s popularity has been plummeting recently. Trump and Elon Musk both have approval ratings that are less than 50% right now.
