Topic: Neurotypical brains are a product of the Industrial Revolution.

+Anonymous A6 months ago #67,506

Think about it.

- Neurotypical brains often accept what is without any explanation as to why they do things.
- Neurotypical brains often lack the creativity necessary for quality storytelling that doesn’t seem to push out propaganda or an agenda.
- Neurotypical brains often see time at face value and often times don’t place value on it.

All while neurodivergent brains keep showing signs that they were remnants of that survival era of humanity, that hunter and gatherer era, and an era of discovery. They’re the more natural brain where as the other is produced for capitalistic gain.

Most humans lack the skills or qualifications to do more than farming or moving rocks yet here we are letting them make decisions in corporations since machines ate our lunch. Get ready for another round when AI takes the last of the meat husk positions. Humans r dumb.

Instead of 'produced' I would say 'adapted' to ensure survival, but that this also means more susceptible to propaganda which promises the same. The agricultural 'age' preceded the metal 'ages' and industrialization employs the exploitation of neurotypicals and natural resources for material gain, so you have a point. The two have always existed alongside each other, and among the neurodivergent, no two of us are the same but we are necessary to the normatives for the sake of adaptation, to see the things they tend to miss altogether.

Nope, this is just cope.

No, high-functioning autism like Asperger's and ADHD is the byproduct of the Internet. There wouldn't be lolcows without social media. Constant drama and rage baiting is another reason why people are lonely and more schizo than they were 20 years ago, innocent trolling turned into witch hunting, everything you post online will be used against you.

Nonsense.

Only if you're dumb enough to associate it with your identity.

The only difference between the United States and China is China lets you know they’re spying on you.

Isn't "assume the government is watching" the default setting now?

There are some places where they keep a record of the license plate number of every car entering and leaving a city with AI and they’ve been using facial recognition on domestic flights for a while now. But people will criticize another country for the same thing and call it dystopian and say we’re better.

Have you been living under a rock or something? How can you choose to be so willfully ignorant to deny the fact that the Internet is responsible for making people weird as they are today? People whom you used to know years ago are now suddenly a completely different person today, they once used to be normal before they devolved into terminally-online parodies of themselves, literal living memes.

Tbh censorship is bad, but governments that were smart enough to police the internet like crazy knew what they were doing. The internet just exists to normalize a bunch of weird shit and force it on everybody. The only opinion you’re not allowed to have is that some people don’t deserve to have a voice because all they do is degrade society. Like I don’t agree with those governments they’re evil, but they’re smart and they made a decision that benefits the integrity of their societies.

(Also 100% not advocating for this. It’s a bad idea. We have already lost to foreign influence and social degradation.)

It's been that way since the 'patriot act' but I first heard the term 'adhd' somewhere around the early '90s when the marketers named us after Billy Idol's punk band 'Generation X'. We rejected that term and 'grunge' but the branding stuck. Autism was featured on after school specials and episodes of 'Quincy' in the '70s but they presented it as debilitating without any real understanding of the phenomena. The internet made it easier for derelict parents to find excuses for their bad behavior and that of their children, then internet addiction, misdiagnosis and abuse of medications became an excuse for any behavior when the true malady is mental and physical atrophy from being terminally online. @previous (I) It's only a loss if you give in to the degradation. I'm just glad I can remember what it's like to be free, which makes detachment now even easier. I'm going outside.

Autism, aspergers, ADHD and all those other conditions existed long before the internet (or at least what you now call the internet, which is really the www). Pre-1994 they may have been called other things but they were definitely around.

Also "lolcow" comes from "laughing stock" - a term which is over 500 years old.

Tbh I’m not gay or anything but I think left wing people would be better off keeping non-neurotypical politics and LGBTQ stuff as separate issues. Most gay people aren’t autistic and I don’t know if pretending they are is helping their case really.
