So there’s this guy, Alex Wang. He’s a billionaire who has an AI company called Scale AI, and I’ve been seeing lots of interviews in podcasts and media interviews recommended to me on the internet where people are asking him questions on AI. Now, he’s young and he has 2 billion dollars and he went to MIT and that’s all impressive, no doubt about that. Most people are not billionaires and especially not that young. But, what Scale AI is, is it’s a company based on commodifying labeling data for other companies. So how it works is you go to his website, you draw some squares over cows, you get rewarded, and then some company like Google pays Alex Wang a load of money because they didn’t have to draw those squares over cows, and then Google goes and trains an AI model using that labeled data. Now, that’s cool, that’s useful, that’s a company idea, that can make money, that’s impressive. Now… does that make Alex Wang an expert on AI? I’m not completely sure about that. I don’t know if I think that.
