Something I was thinking about the other day is apparently North Korean soldiers have been fighting in a way that’s suicidal in Ukraine and one guy detonated a grande next to his head instead of being captured. And I was thinking about it, that’s one of the things people say about Japan in World War Two that it’s so crazy they had kamikaze pilots and all that. But I was thinking about it, people commit suicide because h they have too many bills to pay even though they have a 9 to 5. You know what I mean? People commit suicide pretty often over stuff that’s much less depressing than war is. Sure, if you were fighting some war and you’d been brainwashed to believe all this ideological stuff about communism or the emperor or democracy, if you’re not a psychopath, and you’re a normal human person, seeing your friends get killed every day while you have to also kill people, that’s gotta wear down on your psyche. Then in a situation like WWII where they were literally burning entire cities down. If you actually think about it, it seems more weird that most people don’t kill themselves.

I mean think about it: if you were drafted, why would you not kill yourself? What’s the advantage of living? Is there one?

The Axis powers were all strung out on Benzedrine and combined with the cult worship of each leader is how so many atrocities took place. I remember when Republicans almost worshiped Reagan as much as Democrats did JFK, but current cult leader is doing everything Ronald Reagan warned against, they're all hopped up on adderall and can't be reasoned with either. The con-artists they call 'businessmen' are making Reagan a prophet of sorts; he warned a trade war with 'trade partners' would destabilize the whole world. Mental illness can be contagious, so the cult leader's narcissism is passed on to their defenders. I wish I'd gotten my roof replaced before the price of lumber skyrockets but I can survive on little food like I was raised, boiling dry beans, growing my own garden, hunting and fishing. My only question is how will the cult react when they have to suffer without survival skills. The markets won't recover until they're gone and at the rate he's killing his supporters with heart attack and stroke they will have worried about their retirement for nothing. There's only one kind of War that never killed anyone.

I imagine many of the north koreans sent to battle were not entirely innocent, many probable were guilty of their own atrocities and figured if they were captured by western forces, they may be found out for their own crimes

People forget, and I don't blame them - there is a lot of pressure with a bunch of scary drill sergeants yelling at you. But don't fight. What will they do? Lock you in the brig? I'd probably go that route rather than kill for ideology.
