100% they fumbled it there. You want your residents plugged into the community, working, enjoying the benefits - not a free pass to get out of poverty for non-locals. As soon as leaders and residents figure out it's not racist to demand better for everyone, the sooner this nonsense can be fixed. And it has nothing to do with diversity or religion - fine, be Muslim (if you must; it's a waste of calories IMO), but also be plugged into the community and contribute.

It’s also not racist to google whether what you’re saying is true or false.

https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/work-pay-and-benefits/benefits/state-support/latest/

"51% of families in the UK received a type of state support, such as the State Pension or Child Benefit, in the 3 years to March 2021

white British families were the most likely to receive state support, and families from the Chinese ethnic group were the least likely to

white British families (51%) were the most likely to receive non-income related benefits, such as the State Pension

families from the Bangladeshi and black ethnic groups (both 24%) were the most likely to receive income-related benefits, such as help with the cost of housing

the percentage of families getting state support went down for every ethnic group in the time period covered by this data"

More white people receive state support than non-white people, but non-white people are more likely to receive assistance for having low incomes. Which is a bit more nuanced.

@OP
The United Kingdom's population is predominantly white, but also includes people of Asian, Black, and mixed ethnicities. The 2021 census reported the following racial breakdown for England and Wales:

White: 81.7% of the population
Asian: 9.3% of the population
Black: 4.0% of the population
Mixed: 2.9% of the population
Other: 2.1% of the population

Obviously, most of the money spent on benefits will go to the people who make up most of the population. Which is kinda what I was getting at before. The "it’s not racist" thing implies that one would think that getting rid of benefits is racist because most people on benefits aren’t white. Which isn’t the case, because it can’t be the case, because the country is so overwhelmingly white it’s not possible.

Why asian % so high?

I assume it's Indian. Same situation in the US, it's not a massive population of Japanese or Koreans, the south east Asians are doing a lot of lifting on the Asian stats.

> Why asian % so high?

Back in US History Asians were imported to build the railroads and work for dirt cheep in the mines.
Asians of course multiplied.

American Asians are mostly Chinese, Indian or Korean, but very few Japanese.

Looks like 50% of Asians in USA are Japanese.
"As of 2022, there were over 1.2 million Japanese Americans in the United States, making up about 5% of the Asian American population."

In California maybe there are more, but where I’ve lived in the south and Midwest there are basically no Japanese people. Also I don’t know if you copied from an AI generated response or something but there are 19.9 million Asian Americans. 1 out of 20 is 5% of Asian Americans not 50%. So 95% of Asian Americans are not Japanese, which is closer to what I said.

Unless you just misread it or it was a typo or something, but Japanese people definitely are an insanely small minority in the United States.

·Anonymous K9 months ago, 1 minute later, 2 days after the original post[T] [B] #667,547

If you think about it out of 330 million people, 1.2 million is less than 1% of the population. Which seems about accurate since I’ve met more Chinese people than I can count and I’ve met, four Japanese Americans. A Japanese girl from my high school a Japanese girl from my middle school and then her dad and her grandfather and that’s literally it. Americans also trade with / think about / talk about China more than Japan. Which ain’t the smartest thing if you think about it since Japan is our ally and China isn’t, but we aren’t the smartest people in the world so it is what it is.
