Topic: The United States government is trying to pretend transgender people don’t exist.

Good luck with that. They’ve always existed even back when people didn’t know what “transgender” even meant. There are transgender people in countries where people assume there aren’t any. There are transgender people in Saudi Arabia for crying out loud.

The only thing you ever did was make it invisible to the eye, but it’s still going to be a thing. It’s not going to be any more or less taboo then it already is and given how there is more awareness now more than ever there will likely never be a time where it’s completely taboo again.

That’s just how things go.

You seem like you’re stretching your hatred a bit there.

Not hate, just disgust. A few people will cut themselves and do harm to many parts of their body.
Their choice and I am free to feel disgusted by this.

On the topic of Saudi Arabia / the Middle East in general, I think people who hate Muslims assume that individual Muslims are the same as what their government’s interpretation of Islam is. But a lot of Muslims are actually pretty chill about most things in my experience. The problem is there’s just a lot of authoritarianism going on in that part of the world due to scarce resources (with the exception of oil) and then the US tries to "fix it" by killing people (which has never worked before and will continue to not work).

Of course, there are problems in Islamic societies like patriarchy and sexism, but I don’t believe that it’s impossible for them to get over that. For example, Indonesia is a Muslim majority nation, and they actually had a female leader before the US. It just takes the right conditions in order for them to become more moderate and less extreme, but those conditions don’t really exist for a load of reasons. But they’re definitely not all horrible people or anything like that.

It is still possible to have multiple wives if you convert to Muslim.
