There are more things I agree with the left on than the right. But honestly, I’m not really feeling American ideology that much in general. I don’t hate gay or trans people or anything, but with the whole sexuality and anti religious thing the left has, I don’t feel particularly comfortable with that whole ideology in general. Then the right is just racist. The left and the right do have similarities, but they’re mostly things I disagree with.
Honestly, I don’t want anything for America really. Like I don’t care. I’m not that interested in this place. If somebody listened to what my ideas are, if they’re conservative at all, they’d label me as a democrat, but honestly I just feel kinda disinvested in America in general. You know what I mean? I don’t really care about some magical values rich white people invented out their ass 200 years ago. People treat it like some pseudo-religious thing, like the contrition and American values and freedom of speech and blah blah blah or it’s North Korea even though for thousands of years people have been getting on with it under thousands of different governments. It’s like, maybe this isn’t real? Maybe it doesn’t matter that much.

Or democracy for example. Do I think democracy is good? Yes. Do I believe in it? Meh. I’m not authoritarian I’m just pessimistic. I don’t think that this whole idea that people will come to the truth through debate and democracy is a valid idea. There are obvious reasons why that doesn’t work. The solution to speech isn’t more speech, that just leads to a shouting match. These aren’t my words but they explain it better than I can:
‘Reason is itself a matter of faith. It is an act of faith to assert that our thoughts have any relation to reality at all. If you are merely a sceptic, you must sooner or later ask yourself the question, "Why should anything go right; even observation and deduction? Why should not good logic be as misleading as bad logic? They are both movements in the brain of a bewildered ape?" The young sceptic says, "I have a right to think for myself." But the old sceptic, the complete sceptic, says, "I have no right to think for myself. I have no right to think at all." There is a thought that stops thought. That is the only thought that ought to be stopped.’
There isn’t some final objective truth that humanity can discover through logic and reasoning that will bring about an ideological utopia. People who believe in democracy think there is, people who believe in science think there is, people who believe in communism think there is, people who believe in the Bible think there is. The truth is, there is an ultimate truth, you won’t know it before you die, because you won’t have enough time, you’re not smart enough, and nobody else will either. And even if you did know it, you would have neither the resources or the time to make use of the knowledge.
So maybe just accept that, no ideology is the solution, and if you don’t really commit to anything, you can’t really be wrong about anything. And just accept that and stop caring.

And really, why should anyone assume that the truth would be useful to them? Maybe the truth is that you are an amoral human living by false values, your understanding of the world is incorrect and based on false assumptions and faulty logic, and everything you wish was true and believe to be true is false and all of your desires are misguided? What if that’s the truth? What if the truth is that you are not equal to another human? What if the truth is that you fail in the end?

Really if you’re going to die anyway, it doesn’t matter if your beliefs were true or false. The outcome is the same either way. If God doesn’t exist, being an atheist won’t save you from death. It isn’t rational to exert effort towards reason.

I think it would be better to live with the attitude and the belief that victory is possible and die in the process than it would be to accept the truth that failure is inevitable and die that way. In the end, there is no difference, but one life is more enjoyable than the other. I don’t believe that success is possible for everyone. There is a level of success which a few individuals have attained that is not possible for most individuals to attain because of factors outside of their control that have nothing to do with their character or intelligence. Most people will fail. But it’s better if they don’t accept the truth and die in the process.
