Topic: Are Japanese people smart

+Anonymous A9 months ago #67,010

I’ve heard a lot of stupid white people say Japanese people are smart. I’ve never heard a Japanese person say Japanese people are smart. I’ve heard Chinese people say Chinese people are smart. Are Japanese people smart? What’s a smart thing Japan has done? Was allying with white supremacist nazis and killing other types of Asians smart when they’re not white themselves? Was allying with the United States after they got nuked so they can’t have their own military smart when China has nukes? The Japanese built cars. Is building cars smart? Internal combustion engines inevitably lead to spontaneous forest combustion. You know in World War Two the Japanese built airplanes. Africans don’t build airplanes so whites say the Japanese are smarter. But Africans do fly airplanes. Although they don’t tend to crash them the way the Japanese did. Is that smart? What have Japanese people done that makes them smart? There are a lot of Asians in American universities. Have you ever noticed none of them are Japanese?

Or think about it: old white people say Japan created technology. My iPhone was made in China. My MacBook was made in China. OpenAI was funded by SoftBank which is a Japanese company… founded by an ethnic Korean. Does Japan make technology? Chips are made in Taiwan. EUV machines are made in the Netherlands. Does Japan have software companies? Google, Amazon, Netflix, Meta… what’s the Japanese equivalent? Russia has a google equivalent: Yandex. China has Baidu. What search engine do the Japanese use? Is Japan a technological society or do they just buy stuff from other countries.

They do make cars though… although China actually produces more, and not a little bit more, like a lot more.

Then I guess alt right people would say that Japan’s empire was evidence of their technological superiority. Except, when you look into it, Japan doesn’t have oil. But Japan wanted to be an industrial military power. And then you look at how much oil countries have, China doesn’t have that much oil, but they have a lot more oil than Japan. And then you look at a map of the Japanese Empire in China, and then you look at a map of Chinese oil reserves, and it’s the same map. And then you realize, they never managed to conquer anything beyond where China’s oil reserves are. Then you wonder, were the Japanese actually good at fighting, or were they just desperate to keep their oil reserves because they literally couldn’t fight without them and barely had enough to hold on to what they had? Then before Pearl Harbor, the US sanctioned most of Japan’s oil supply.

But we are supposed to believe that the Japanese were these superhuman die hard obsessed religious fanatics that thought their emperor was a god and would fire their children into the ocean out of cannons when they ran out of ammunition or some bullshit. We are supposed to believe the only way to stop them was by nuking them. But what if they actually sucked though?

Because think about it: Saudi Arabia today and Imperial Japan are actually kinda similar. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy and theocracy with a not very diverse culture (no atheists or Christians or gay people or anything like that). They also like slicing peoples heads off. Except, Saudi Arabia doesn’t have an empire. But the difference between Saudi Arabia and Japan is Saudi Arabia has oil, so they don’t need to conquer anybody to get oil, they can just buy weapons from other countries. But Japan couldn’t buy weapons, they had to make their weapons themselves. So the fact that Japan had all that industry, was that actually a good thing?

Then their ally, Nazi Germany, they couldn’t trade with. So why would you get an ally you can’t even trade with? That seems kinda stupid.
