mind you these are full games that I owned. I remember playing a fuckton of demos some of which im struggling to recall because its been too long but I remember having demo discs that were exclusively japanese or had a hidden secret japanese demo in the menus of the western discs.

One I could never seem to sit down and finish was Parasite Eve, although I loved the concept. The backwards compatibility of PS2 was great because I was late to the game on PS1 stuff.

PS2 era was a great era in gaming. Same with Gamecube and even the OG xbox. Dreamcast also good too it just came at the worst time. But imo PS2 tops them all. Parasite Eve I remember watching a family friend play buit never got a chance to try it myself.

Yeah I never got around to trying it. Might just emulate if anything because I honestly owe myself that experience. Man Squaresoft had some bangers that I wish they revisit or at least SE needs to work Dream Factory again and bring us new modern bangers. Do you remember by any chance Wild Arms 2?

Rent? No way, a most people threw the cases, artwork, bonus discs, etc in the trash. That's why complete versions of collectors' grade games go for so much on eBay. That was one of my frustrations buying used games from gamestop back in the day.
