Theres too many humans and not enough space/resources to accommodate everyone comfortably. the cost of living in any city will remain high because banks and landlords and owners want to squeeze out as much money as they can from the properties they own even though they know that most people dont have the means to pay. quid pro quo. however we are naturally greedy as a species we want everything for nothing. Thats why universal basic income cant happen. Thats why we cant just say "fuck debt just make more homes and fill them up". War and shitty social structures are fundamental in culling civilization. I literally cant get a job no matter how much upskilling or how many work readiness/networking seminars I attend I have compete with the rest of you lot every single damn day at fucking hour and minute. Less people. Less traffic. Less mouths to feed. Less competition for jobs. Less fucks to give. I dont blame the high wealthy folks for perpetuating the bs, it serves them that as long nobody pays them mind they continue to amass as much money as possible because they fear poverty. They fear that any moment all in single step they too will end up losing everything and end up on tinychan writing about how life sucks or whatever towards indifferent, apathetic, ambivalent faceless anonfags.
anyway cue the "asian reprimand me for x" cunt and the "parody another post because im a witty" fag and the random guy who likes to pretend he has no care in the world and posts random links of old songs to derail the conversation.

I got stuck there for like 15 years - have a 4 year degree but I'm too squirrelly for corporate life. Had to claw my way up the blue collar ladder to warehouse guy. Being a sperg sucks.

And as messed up as it sounds. I get it. If you had the foresight to know that in about 5-10 years population will double. Cost of living, inflation, economy enters a recession, war, etc. literally whatever inconvenient catastrophe that will have you struggling to keep your head up. you'd sure as hell deep down in your heart will pull that ladder up, burn the bridges and discard any life preservers to ensure that only you survive shitstorm.

If I refrain from criticizing them publicly it could be enough, but these cats are petty and vindictive. The people harassing them were real but it wasn't bureaucrats. That's about to change.
Here's another uncomfortable answer: Meritocracy doesn't exist except on a macro level, like sporting events. Doing manual labor and more demanding work always meant less pay and opportunity than the brown-nosers received. They demonstrated well the old maxim "it's not what you know but who you know" and sometimes 'who you do'.
