Like the whole damn site. Every instance of it. Every bit of code, rancid comments, bots, pictures, etc etc. The level of discourse that devolves on that forsaken site makes Tinychan look like Mensa.
Staring at the abyss provides more meaningful feedback than that place.

Discord I have mixed feelings. I'm not crazy about it but if one day I wake up and find that Discord was removed from the face of the earth it wouldn't faze me. it does serves me in other ways that I sort of welcome it. I'm in two NSFW servers and one of them is pretty chill for the most part.

Never used discord nor plebbit, search engines are even worthless. I only visit a few sites, it's easier to avoid the depression of seeing the masses 'under the influence' of the deceptive, manipulative whole.
I saw that you both like to play. When I gave lessons long ago, Nirvana and AC/DC were good for beginners. If someone wants you to be in their band make sure they're serious people willing to put in the work and practice. A big ego and sense of entitlement is a sure sign they won't. Now I have to install my new OS so I gotta go. Have fun and remember, the way you practice is the way you perform. Adio

Heck yeah we like music here. I also used to be a hack bass player, but had a few guitars too. Wouldn't mind getting back into it but I don't want to play stuff from the 80's/90's/00's... already getting a reputation for being old as shit and I don't want to cement that, lol.

Haha, I understand. I can't play like I did 30 yrs ago so I'm a professional amateur luthier, now. I only played other artists music cos students would bring in tapes or cd's of what they wanted to learn and I still have my favorite warm up routines. I never cared about reputation... the gossip of others shouldn't define anyone. I'm nobody's judge, but you seem pretty cool. Play what you enjoy.

One of the servers does spam OF and Ai Slop from time to time but I just mute the channels and focus mostly on the main updates(This one is like a fan server for a particular adult comic illustrator.)

I will admit, there are a few places in there actual humans are holed up - suppose that's not any worse than discord or other places artists have left for a fanbase.

All of the normie and brainrot chanfag sites partake in a incessant desire for meta-irony because sincerity is dead and its no longer "cool" to care. mostly gen z are to blame and gen alpha while undoubtedly follow suit. Thats what you're experiencing now. This is why no matter where you go whether discord, Tinychan hell even a fucking overwatch 2 match chat will devolve into in meta irony slop because the american death cult didnt just wanna just leave it at covid times. No. now its "based" to be depressed, apathetic, jaded, self deprecating. A joke now cant be funny unless its up to standards otherwise its outdated and will get picked apart.
My advice: Download all your favorite movies, shows, whatever pre ironic, boomerish content you can and just log off of the internet or if you really wanna stay plugged in the net then look into IRCs. but warned theres also a chance that its also gone down to shit since a lot of 20-something-indie sleaze assholes will find their wat into them wirh a quick google search. its a fucking disease man.
also off topic or maybe not: But dont trust anyone not even me. Keep questioning thing but for the love of something. just give a fuck. laugh at the boomer jokes and have fucking fun being cringe. fuck these loser, miserable ass depressing kids. they're worse than the people they claim to despise.

Working on it. Buying magazines and physical media again. CDs are harder to find than vinyl in this market so probably picking up a phonograph eventually. Yeah, I have digital too, agreed there - just avoiding the streaming (spotify, netflix, etc) on principle. I refuse to never own something - not going to lease everything for life!
> also off topic or maybe not: But dont trust anyone not even me.
Been tough, used to be a trusting person, but it's the market we're in, right?

Didn't know that. I still have my Pioneer CD player from '90 and about 50 CDs, but everyone told me vinyl would become obsolete and tube amps would be replaced by solid state. Glad I didn't listen. Gave away the tape collection, half the CDs but still have about 100 LPs... some of the vinyl was expensive collectors pieces, mint from the original pressing. When they named us GenX I figured the U.S. had 'jumped the shark' creatively. Generation X was Billy Idol's punk band.

Yeah lots of valid points. I did start a small collection of downloaded games, movies and music. I still have physical media but not as much as I used to but i'm changing that so it's perhaps the best way to go. I've even been entertaining the idea of buying a regular flip phones and pawn my iphone simply to make calls.
Also reading that made me realize that I've never made actual online friends. I believe I've made more and lost more friends IRL than online. It's funny I can connect with 8 billion humans on the internet and still feel somewhat alone. Whether it's a testament that I was never chronically online or my phone or simply I lack internet social skills needless to say I think I'm going to make more of effort to go back to my roots.
·Anonymous D — 9 months ago, 1 hour later, 2 days after the original post[T] [B] #665,759

I just got my first cell and it's a flip cos I can't see and I already have computers & home phone. I never considered it possible to make 'friends' online because of the deceptive nature of it. I also never considered anyone an enemy for the same reason. Shared experience and mutual exchange matter and discernment requires biofeedback which isn't possible online though it's marketed as such. I remember having a certain fondness for some netizens of Usenet like 'Steve Leyland' but I wouldn't trust him with anything important. Irl is where one can notice red flags... one is a sign, two indicates a pattern. I have no irl enemies, either, but that's coming from my perspective. I wish everyone well.

Highly tempting, but I don't have 100PB of storage. Also I'm not a member of any private trackers since Demonoid died, so idk any reliable sites for old stuff. I don't wanna be signing up for shit anymore.

yeah tc irc is shit

I really wanna say they don't give a shit about irc because it's so barebones and boring looking compared to what discord gives them and that tc irc was ruined by 4chin fags, but I really don't know since I cba to read the scrollback when I could be lurking/posting here instead
