If you buy plastic netting with really small holes and tape it over your vent and then put some traps by the windows, you’ll basically never see bugs. There are only 3 ways they get in: through the window, under the door, and through the vent. Also sometimes drains but that’s so uncommon it basically almost never happens.

@OP
Ducks, Doooooon't Kill the Spiders. Spiders are your bug killing friend. That is the ONLY thing they eat.
Also remember the bigger bugs kill the smaller bugs.
Pest traps are also available.

Nah, I kill spiders. If you kill enough spiders, they stop coming back. Fewer spiders doesn’t mean more bugs, it just means fewer spiders.

Do the math. Spiders only eat bugs. Kill the spiders and you end up with more bugs.

That’s only true if you have bugs in the first place.

You see, the way I see it, is if spiders eat bugs, if I kill all the bugs, then all the spiders will starve.

Lots of people fear spiders. I know for a fact my spiders are healthy because they are killing the kind of bugs I dislike the most.

You could also have just kept the bugs out, then you wouldn’t have any bugs or any spiders.

Keeping all the bugs out isn’t an impossible task by the way, if you cover your vents with nylon, and put traps in the windows you can go for months without seeing any bugs or any spiders at all. Bugs aren’t magical creatures that appear out of nowhere. They can’t teleport through walls.

Open any door of your house and the wind can blow a bug or 3 into your home.

At least between our two strategies:
Your strategy: don’t get rid of the spiders so the spiders get rid of the bugs
My strategy: git rid of the bugs so the spiders have nothing to eat and kill the spiders that haven’t starved yet
I think my strategy is better because it gets rid of two categories while yours only gets rid of one category.

IF that works for you no problem.

Also, generally, people think spiders are harmless but spiders can bite you. In places like Canada or the northern United States that’s only an annoyance, but in some places like South America where they have venomous spiders that can kill you, it’s really better to just kill them.

My take too. I don't want an ecosystem in my house, they can do that stuff out in the garden where they belong.
