Topic: Socialism

Is socialism really that bad? Like Americans act like it’s the worst thing ever or something but I’m starting to think capitalism is just a scam and all the arguments against socialism are just corporate propaganda. The only two groups of people I’ve seen actually defend capitalism are billionaires and racist white people from bum fuck nowhere.

Take American opinions on economic/political systems with a truckload of rock salt.

It could absolutely work if everyone put effort into it. Unfortunately the hicks only see it as commie BS for POC handouts, and the Democrats got way too hung up on gender and race stuff and forgot about running the country.
Everyone would have to actually try harder for a greater good: work hard, support local community, admit that bad things happen to good people... we get old, accidents happen, illness happens, vets see some shit overseas.
If everyone worked 10% harder but everyone's standard of living went up 20% because it isn't all funneling into corporations and billionaires... I could live with that.
