nah. I feel like its one of those hidden truths that if one day we can get past the homophobia and machismo and embrace each other regardless of whether we are strangers or not then the world would be vastly different and unique place.

I was wondering when that would start happening. I think you guys are right, this had nothing to do with confirming age and everything to do with filling databases with current images of humans. I can see why they're fighting so hard to take down alterntives to the normie-net (and catalog the younger adults that didn't use Facebook).
