US is whack. If you were gonna leave and could work remotely, where would you go?
+Anonymous B — 1.1 year ago, 54 minutes later[T] [B] #660,793
Peru or Chile assuming I had a handle on the language before going. Probably would have picked weeb mecca when I was younger (Japan).

The grass isn't always greener... and I have nowhere else to go.

The Casinos are too loud for me and interfere with my pacemaker. Since I'm a mutt through inter-tribal introgression with French, Portuguese, Keetoowah band and Choctaw via slavery I get nothing from any casino. The only band of any tribe that benefits its people in any way is the Eastern Band Cherokee back east.

To heck with that idea then. Plan B I'd probably save up $20K and move to Tennesse or Kentucky just to change it up a little. Oklahoma is one of those states that's just a little too much 'itself' (not dunking on it, my state is the same way).

It's the armpit of the Bible Belt full of Fundamentalist zealots, but the nice parts of Green Country aren't known or accessible to everyone and the Fundies are afraid of anyone who doesn't look like them. The fishing's good.

I remember those days - don't miss them. It didn't register why the ratio was like 96% white at my church until I was older and out of there.

If they were genuine Christians who lived the Gospel, the beatitudes, and didn't proselytize by imposition then I could respect that they were still in error imo if they lived their own lives instead of trying to dictate the lives of others. The only way to overcome bigotry is to not be a bigot, but at least I know this. I don't know anyone else who does.

I took a quiz a few years ago and Denmark was my result. Kind of tempting, but I'm not keen on moving somewhere that I can't speak the language at all. And since it's unlikely that I'd actually go through with the move, there's no point starting to learn. Which creates a catch-22.
Canada could be a more viable option, but I heard they have kind of strict obscenity laws and I'm fundamentally opposed to any kind of government limitations on artistic expression when it is not in the explicit interest of protecting minors from exploitation.

Move to Denmark or Canada, Swedes have no issues with English though.

Just from observation, it feels like Canada stagnated the last 10 years. Sill better than warlords and rampant crime but they seem to be having the same problems Europe and the US are having.
