I wouldn't ask if I wasn't sure. For the past years she has been wanting to get out. Any means of communication with anyone has been cut at this point. She is highly monitored and constantly worried about her kids. I know her kids are being used against her. He has a local record of being physically violent.
I've seen people do exactly what you're saying, in fact it's been done to me. This guy is a giant fake and control freak who has resorted to threats and physical violence because she wanted to leave him back when she found him cheating and she was pregnant with her second child. With a very screwed up record way before that but it's definitely escalated and I'm concerned. But hey believe what you want.
