@OP
Interesting. I always get confused when place 'does a thing' - I'd personally wonder why my potato was out by the cash register and not in the fryer. Even the Dairy Queen and flipping the shakes upside down confused me - seems like a waste of 7 seconds and my shit's melting as we speak. I know the food's 6/10, you don't have to sell me on it, I know it's not 4.5/10.

They could have at least had a portabella option or something, a couple of lettuce sprigs is 100% a scam.

Do Five Guys do a veggie burger?
Five Guys Vegan Menu Options (Complete Plant-Based Guide)
For vegetarians, Five Guys has both a Veggie Sandwich and a Cheese Veggie Sandwich. To make it vegan, you'll need to make some modifications. First of all, the bun is not vegan as it contains both eggs and dairy in the ingredients, so it's a no-go. Instead, you can ask them to wrap it in a lettuce wrap.Mar 28, 2024
I could not locate your burger on the 5 Guys website.

I'm willing to settle for vegetarian when eating out at normal restaurants. Ask for vegan and you'll get a pile of kale or tomato here in a salad... that's about it.

What if I reject the potato? How do I know they don't take it back and use it anyway?
You really didn't know about their secret menu? That's like the most open secret secret menu restaurant there is...(Edited 1 minute later.)

I assumed it was a ruse and they don't use it regardless. Kind of like those shady oil change joints that bring out a mangled or dirty part from the trash pile as say you need to replace it before your car explodes.

OP's topic is the result of Me Myself and I, posting about In-N-Out's secret menu. The chain does NOT cover all of the USA.
They have a super simple menu inside the joint AND offer up lots of options BUT only if you are aware of them via the hidden menu.
I order Fries
EXTRA Crispy with 1/2 the Salt - Extra onions and a Extra patty so it's 3 on the Double burger and Extra Onions.
Many in the know get Grilled Onions or a mix of both - More Tomato if one wants and or Lettuce.
FatFuck made a big deal of a secret menu and the times some highly paid employee showed me the Potato that they would make my fries from.
They do pay several Bucks above Minimum wage and that is at the very start of job.
