I think I have an idea of why women aren't necessarily funny. Most men dont relate to women and at the same we dont try hard to be funny. Sometimes a simple penis joke will get us chuckling or even something absurd, random or plain stupid can make us laugh. Somehow we understand the humor in nonsense. Women on the other hand dont. they want to understand and be understood. Id argue that most women to an extent have that dilemma. I think women can find other women funny and men too. but men only find other men funny because the bar for humor and wit isnt always so high nor men care much if the joke lands and is understood because the act of telling it alone can be a 100x times funnier.

I’m a guy and I can’t really relate to that tbh. Most people aren’t funny in general. Only about 10% of people are funny, and out of that, only 1% even want to be comedians, then out of that 1%, only 1% of them will be successful enough at it that a random person on the street will have a greater than 50% chance of knowing their name.

Eh, that's fair. There's a local guy that would do shtick in town; I assume he was into open mic nights or a local comedian but I don't do the bar scene. It was more annoying than funny; I hate getting trapped.
