Topic: how come nobody votes for independants in the US elections?
+Anonymous A — 1.4 year ago #65,798
Like whats the pros and cons with that?

I did, Jill Stein got a vote. But the independants aren't even on all of the state ballots, tend to ba a little more fringe than the general population, and they're working with a much smaller pool of money to campaign on.
Basically everyone would have to work a little harder to realize a vision for the population, but the population is waiting for their chance at getting rich, and are incredibly selfish and lazy.

Unfortunately, they have no real chance of winning, so voting for them is simply a vote for someone else.

I blame big donors and special interest groups only contributing to the two party system for their own gain

We could start by making it illegal for advertising money to be spent outside of the state where the donor resides.
