It's currently 50F below zero. The apartment in the research station they are allowing me to live in for free is totally acceptable, but cold as hell! There's a fucking woodturning stove. I had to go out and cut firewood. This is going be very challenging, but I am very excited about the archaeological work I am to do here. My liaison is a beautiful young lady named Natasha.

The French Archaeological Missions excavated the remains of 130 ancient people in Central Yakutia, the Vilyuy River basin, and the Verhoyansk area between 2002 and 2012. The remains were well-preserved because most of the burial sites were frozen at the time of discovery
