What is the best way to respond to someone when they ask what happened to your face

When you have a mysterious rash????

Over the summer I picked up a mysterious rash from an unknown source and it still hasn’t healed. It is severe. Went to dr and they gave me scabies meds (but it’s not scabies) which may/may not work. Now there’s severe scarring :(

I will be attending family gatherings in the next few days and relatives will see my severe rash/scarring (it’s on 1 side of my face) and they WILL make comments about it. We are Asian so they value beauty so that’s gonna make it even worse.

How do I explain to them that it is out of my control?????

Key points:

-rash came from unknown source
-rash started about 3 months ago
-it is severe with scarring
-it is on one side of my face
-I have NO control over this
-I tried my best to heal this without avail
-I DID NOT REQUEST FOR THIS NOR DID I EXPECT IT TO BREAK OUT THIS BAD
