Topic: Why Is Adult Animation So Far Behind?

Man, animation seems to pay worse than video game programmers...

I got 3 minutues in only to realize that video is long enough to go watch a movie or something.
I can venture to guess: most of that is geared toward community college burnouts (of which I was one). Not a super profitable demographic to market to.

Create more gay furry movies with sex scenes, problem solved!

Yeah, it's better to learn how to animate rather than complaining about the current state of today's modern animations. I'm usually more interested in the storyline itself though, but if the animation is fluid enough or has nice aesthetics I haven't seen before that evokes a certain feeling then I'm fine if it has no inherent meaning.

Speaking of, I realized that Western countries feel “emptier” than Asian countries in a sense (too modern, lack of animals and exotic plants, not as populated, people are anti-social, Brutalist architecture, no one gives a fuck about culture since functionality is far more important, unregulated makeshift markets (street jobs) are forbidden, you don't have to rely on others), which could also explain the driving force behind anime, which is funny because a lot of series are set in medieval/Victorian-era Europe.

US adult animation is for edgy teens (eg. Rick & Morty).
JP adult animation is for sophisticated audiences (eg. Frieren & Full Metal Alchemist)

Too much snark out there for sure. It's probably funnier if you're in the circle but it's off-putting otherwise.
Some of the netflix stuff like the Castlevania series were tolerable. I hate giving netflix any credit though, they are some of the worst offenders on edgy adult animation.

eh. idk its not that deep not sure why a one hour video yap session was needed when the answer is straight forward. western edgy animation sucks because our perception has been accustomed to any animation made in japan or s.korea is higher quality than whatever Americans put out. We glazed them so much that inadvertently we stunted our creative efforts. Westerners need to stop simping and deep throating the Asian animation industry and start focusing on producing quality stories and putting more effort in their art. adult animation is just lazy, cringe, 00's Newgrounds artstyle and humor. Elevation is needed.

nah... our autistic industries suck ass because a cult of inverse values have wormed into or been let into positions of power. japanese animation borrowed heavily from american animation, so to fix ours we just need to borrow from japan as they borrowed from us.

In terms of story and world building—yes I agree. Not so much on art, I dont want to see anymore americ-weeb style art. The Japanese and maybe most asian countries in general tend to borrow not just from american/western influence but they also take inspiration from whatever late night philosophical doomer thought they think of at the moment.
