Here’s my poem

In a tavern old and dreary,
Where the air was thick and bleary,
Sat a skeleton, a trickster, with a grin.

He was ancient, bones so brittle,
Had a plan, a wicked riddle,
To steal a kiss from youth’s untouched skin.

Along came a maiden, fresh and fair,
With golden locks and eyes to spare,
He whispered, “Come, and sit by me.”

She saw no harm in his bony frame,
Thought it all a charming game,
A skeleton with tales from history.

He spoke of love, of days gone by,
Of stars that glittered in the sky,
And she listened, wrapped in his lore.

Then he leaned in, oh so sly,
And stole a kiss, a quick goodbye,
Leaving her in shock, forevermore.

The old bones rattled, a wicked tone,
“I made you kiss this old pile of bones!”
He cackled loud, a ghoulish moan,
“You kissed the dust of ancient stones!”

She gasped and fled, her heart a race,
Leaving behind that hollow face,
And in the dark, his laughter rang.

A skeleton tricked, a kiss he stole,
From a maiden’s lips, he took his toll,
In the shadows, his triumph sang.

“I made you kiss this old pile of bones!”
He laughed again, in gleeful tones,
“An ancient relic, with a stolen kiss,
Oh, what fun, this wicked bliss!”

In the tavern, dim and shady,
Where the nights are long and hazy,
The skeleton waits for another day.

For youth is naive, and bones endure,
With tricks and tales, they lure,
And in the dark, their laughter sways.
