Topic: Computer Advice

I bought a new PC tower about 8 months ago. I use it for a few games and some video editing. When I was having it built I had the choice of Win 10 or 11. I thought about it and finally decided on 11. I figured get it over with and move on. I fucking hate win 11. I'm not going to sit here and list all the reasons why, but there are many.

So here it is. I am thinking about taking it to the shop and having them put win 10 in it and hopefully being able to keep going and bypass 11 altogether. Do you think this is a good idea or am I just being a cunt and should suck it up? Microsoft should support 10 for a few more years I would think? And by then have something hopefully better.

Advice?
I know I should quit being a cunt but try and give some serious advice before I spend money on this.

14 months until Win10 end-of-life, I personally wouldn't downgrade myself. 11 is going to be around for a while unfortunately, they just invested a ton of cash into AI/copilot so they'll be doing that for years before getting a Windows 12 release out the door I think.

Well shit, I take it back. Win 12 coming soon - can't post a link but google is our friend!

@previous (B)
Yeah I know. I'll check/google that 12 out. But it will probably suck as much as 11 knowing my luck.

Thanks.

Edit see if I can post this link.

At this point you'd be better off getting used to Linux. Windows has been going downhill for the last decade, and they've had 2 update crashes this year. I don't normally care much about software licensing, but this has shown that the devs are over their heads with what must be billions of lines of code by now, and the closed source model has become a liability to the stability and integrity of the code base. There's always going to be someone out there who tries something weird that you didn't think to test for. At least with Linux there's thousands of other power users out there poking around and submitting bug reports and fixes, even if you're not going to be one of them.

If you posted this around 60 days you could have done the reset to windows 10 option.

With 10 there are NOW NO and I mean NO Updates so your computer is wide open for Covid and whatever Virus comes along.
