Topic: This place is too unsupportive for my liking

+Anonymous A1.3 year ago #65,139

I was about to post how my suicide ideation has not gotten worse in the last few days, even if my circumstances have gotten worse.

Then I was thinking any reply would not be supportive. Very few posts here are supportive. I think I need to stop coming here.

That’s just the internet now, the age of comfy social groups has kind of died out.
I’m sorry things are getting worse for you.

@OP
ah don't feel that way. You want to talk about it? Bend my ear and I'll listen.

People tend to forget there's no such thing as a supportive community, if someone loves you unconditionally it just means they want to get something out of you (ulterior motive), every group betrays their own kind eventually for subjective reasons, there's no side to pick from that's better than the other. Most people even stopped creating their own communities and just jump into whatever preexisting community there is. From my experience, hugboxes aren't a good thing and never have been, coddling also hinders developmental maturity (they probably do this in order to make you stay there for as long as possible), it's better to be more direct and honest (low-context) rather than trying to play nice all the time (high-context) for the fear of facing backlash and to avoid drama that most social media platforms are trying to condition us into, it's expected that making friends means a higher chance of being backstabbed. Self-destructive enablers (porn addiction, eating disorders, cringe, self-harm, drugs, abuse), conspiracy theorists (esp. made-up stigmatized namefags on imageboards used to ostracize anyone they don't like) and echo-chambers (politics, fandoms, fields of study, platforms, forums, games) caught in their own filter bubbles are also way more common these days. You're meant to be a “lone wolf”, stop playing along as to avoid standing out from the rest. I think moderation has gone too far enough that we stopped speaking our mind aloud truthfully…

I also wanted to elaborate on this: Most people even stopped building their very own communities by joining whatever pre-existing community there is instead out of sheer laziness that avoids effort which led to a surge in off-topic discussions where most places you go to have resulted in a homogenous atmosphere, they no longer care about the topic of interest/discussion at hand. People can't even make their own websites nowadays without relying on third-party services that force you to comply to their own set of rules, it almost feels like a PsyOp when you try to look up “how to create a website” on YouTube (Neocities also sucks, it's most superficial faggy version of the '90s web and no one uses Adobe Flash there).

Anyway, @OP, listen here… I myself would not consider suicide, and perhaps as some food-for-thought to contemplate on as well, humans possess more autonomy (“free will”) compared to other species. The alternative here on Earth: being a farm animal with a limited existence confined to eating and ultimately being slaughtered, or a defenseless insect that could be crushed at any moment, or a fish confined to a small tank, etc. The freedom and control we have over our lives as humans are worth preserving. We don't even know what extraterrestrial life and alien civilizations look like on other planets out there, and it's weird that reality exists in the first place.

Thanks for the replies, supportive and unsupportive. I used to belong to a forum, and I forgot its name.

I hope for that to happen with tinychan.

I never felt like I belonged to anyone/anything, and to this day I still don't, never truly feeling like an integral part of any group or relationship, even if people try to be nice to me I would think to myself that they were just pretending and still see me as an outcast no matter what. I guess that's what it means to be cynical.

OP said it hasn't gotten worse though

Yes that's correct. My chosen suicide plan hasn't been indulged in my thoughts more than currently "normal".

·Anonymous A (OP) — 1.3 year ago, 2 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[T] [B] #653,903

For those who were wondering, everything is normal if I can finish this phrase:

"I am happy with....".

+Anonymous G1.3 year ago, 54 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[T] [B] #653,906

I'm happy with the fact that nothing ever happens, thus I'm safe and sound.

I feel the same way

·Anonymous A (OP) — 1.3 year ago, 4 days later, 2 weeks after the original post[T] [B] #654,675

I'm at the airport about to fly away from the love of my life. It's 50% my fault (anxiety) and 50% her fault (undiagnosed brain injury). We've run out of money.

Life sucks.

Yikes, sorry for the luck. Hopefully new adventures for both of you out in this crazy world.

I pulled the plug on one of mine and it still felt pretty unresolved - not always black and white like cheating or drugs or something.
