Rather be a some anon nobody who can fuck around and do whatever I want than be a famous public figure caught in some scandal or abuse allegations.
Think about it If I had an argument with an ex and they kept pissing me off or even started to get physical. my first knee jerk reaction would be to punch their mouf. yeah id get arrested or whatever and MAYBE I get shunned by friend groups but I can still have a job. I can still make new friends, etc new slate.
but you cant do that as public figure. you're expected perfect and incorruptible. You have no privacy so you cant fuck around and make all sorts if mistakes because it'll always come to light and the internet...oh the fucking internet.
the internet rarely forgives and it never forgets.

My name is uncommon enough that the google search only had one hit for a public auction I bid on, then vanished relatively quickly. A few years later some clown was running an investment scheme and it flooded a few pages worth, but different photo and different state at least. Long lost cousin? Standard con man borrowing my name? Don't care - still a happy anon that I'm off the radar.

That's not true any longer. There's just too much online shenanigans going on to keep up now.

Only if you live on instagram/twitter/facebook/social-media 24/7; learn to turn it off.

I think he means the amount of content generated by such places is too vast to ever be indexed so it's like searching for a specific grain of sand on a beach.

Yeah I agree. But people make drama from everything these days.

There may be some hope yet, a lot of AI was trained on social media, so if the future is AI and AI alone... I just hope we didn't all put our entire lives out there on the internet!

Well if that's how it works, and AI is truly modeled after a human brain, it's going to suffer from brain drain from social media overload.
