Topic: Why the fuck is Twitter/Discord/Reddit humor so prevalent despite being obnoxiously insufferable?
+Anonymous A — 1.4 year ago #65,085

These kinds of Zoomers are everywhere online, there's no escape from them, they have to forcedly insert memes admist every single thing they say, whether it's relevant to the conversation or not. They keep using brainrot words/catchphrases/snowclones/emojis such as “bro”, “on god” (ong), “lit”, “unironically”, “peak”, “legit”, “literally”, “sus”, “blud”, “Ohio”, “fr” (for real), “no cap”, “ayo”, “y'all”, “rizz”, “gyatt”, “bussin'”, “dope”, “deadass”, “lowkey”, “vibe (check)”, “vibing”, “mood”, “W (in the chat)”, “yikes”, “I'ma/Imma”, “wild”, “wholesome”, “problematic”, “toxic”, “incel”, “chud”, “oof”, “ratio”, “cope” & “seethe”, “unalive”, “ngl” (not gonna lie), “s2g” (swear to god), “smh” (shaking my head), “based” & “cringe”, “gooner”/“gooning”, “POV: *”, “(go) touch grass”, “(me) when the”, “you fell off”, claps 👏 for 👏 emphasis, “it's almost as if *”, “sir, this is a Wendy's”, “tell me * without telling me *”, “let him cook”, “this, so much this” (TSMT), “my brother in christ”, “rent free”, “you must be fun at parties”, “* here, can confirm”, “wow… just wow”, “what da dog doin'”, “what is blud yapping about”, “GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time), “that's crazy (but I don't remember asking)”, “ok, *oomer”, “who asked?”, “didn't ask”, “the hero we need but don't deserve”, “the * is strong with this one”, “(truly a) (bruh) moment”, “one of the most”, “repost for *, ignore for *”, “sheesh”, “(take the) L”, “cries in *”, “literally me”, “skill issue”, “edit: *”, “*: *exists*”, “oh he mad”, “protip: you can't”, “newsflash: *”, “what did he mean by this?”, “let's unpack this”, “buy my merch”, “nobody: literally nobody:”, “the algorithm has blessed you”, “it's giving *”, “it's the * for me”, “valid”, “body count” (in dating), “we need to talk about *”, “normalize”, “glow up”, “let people enjoy things”, “who hurt you?”, “bro thinks *”, “whoosh”, “this slaps”, “NPC”, “LET'S GOOO!”, “uncomfy”, “we are so back”, “it's over”, “delete this”, “trauma(core)”, “hyperfixation”, “um, sweaty”, “I'm not *, but *”, “cisgender”/“cishet”, “bigotry”, “I'm literally shaking rn”, “let that sink in”, “you're not welcome here”, “I'm dying rn”, “relatable”, “oomfie”, “me on the right/left”, “I've lost all faith for humanity”, “I'm (so) done”, “I literally can't even”, “* of the year”, “it's called being a decent human being”, “you a *”, “sis”, “edgy”, “* be like”, “this had me *”, “bro had me *”, “that one friend when *”, “straight up”, “I'm 'boutta *”, “we gettin' * with this one”, “thicc”, “sigma”, “fanum tax”, “yeet”, 💀, 😂, 🔥, 🗿, 🗣️, 🤓, 😭…
First of all, just stop saying “bro” all the time, it's the most annoying filler word out there. It doesn't make you sound cool, these fucking memes you keep using makes you look like a fucking mentally deranged terminally-online degenerate manchild.

I'm a bit of a numbers nerd, but could never bring myself to research who pulls the strings and decides who gets boosted, by how much, and how much that costs. It's too depressing. At least there are some normal jobs left, I couldn't do it if we all had to 'build a brand' instead.

Just to provide as a reminder and to prevent revisionism from those who don't remember the early days of the Internet, this kind of lingo has been around but was a bit more subtle back then: “o rly?”, “WinRAR”, “FTW” (for the win), “for the lulz”, “(lurk) moar”, “derp”, “cool story, bro”, “owned”/“pwned”, “TL;DR”, “RTFM” (read the fucking manual), “ROTFL” (rolling on the floor laughing), “4eva”, “teh”, “NO U”, “Interwebz”, “TITS OR GTFO”, “1337”, “fap”, “XD”, “O_o”, “u mad bro?”, “epic troll”, “epic fail”, “noob”, “hax”, “lolwut”, “w00t”, “I see what you did there”, “I can haz *”, “I haz been *”, “=3”, “=]”, “your argument is invalid”, “doin' your mom”, “your mom is so * she *”, “\o/”, “8=D”, “(. It was cheesy/corny but still had more charm.

Ebonics (or AAVE) is similar to Trap music in that you can't criticize it, you can't hate it otherwise you're deemed as a racist by a bunch of faggy libtards despite how homogenized, widespread, commercialized and mundane it is.
Jazz is good though, fuck these lazy “music producer” wannabes using default factory 808 instruments, to hell with corporate pseudo-liberation.(Edited 5 minutes later.)

Western films are so unwatchable these days with their in-your-face political media literacy, especially Hollywood/A24 films or anything promoted by Netflix, I'm thankful that new movies from the 2020s aren't shown on TV here yet but they do play old films for the elderly more often that one wouldn't really consider to watch. Smiling Friends, Invincible (still a bit political sometimes that might end up with a boring DC Comics/Marvel-like writing sooner or later) and Robot Dreams were ok though. Anime (not American-based ones) feels a bit more pure but still stale, it doesn't want to break traditions too much in ways that are considered to be risky.

I do feel kinda bad for watching popular stuff, everything feels too curated, as if they're selectively picked, where everyone's supposed to see the same thing, it just doesn't seem personal, bringing those things up as a means to have discussion about something makes me feel more of a consumer who's really superficial. I wanna animate something myself, but I don't know why.

Reading all this and understanding this frustration makes me realize that I'am old but its also the change of times. Even porn/rule 34 content is garbage now. they're ruined a lot of good shit with brain rot repetitive humor. Nothing they say/do/make is funny and/or interesting. Its just emotionless, bottomless void.
it's only to get worse. That's why nostalgia is so high compared to like 5 years ago.

Man fuck that. Trap is garbage too. People in America are extremely retarded and it worsens every year. Between the libtards and the grand ol' pedos both sides contributed to this nonsense.

Misappropriated in a way where it starts getting thrown around too loosely, it was originally used to just describe those annoying crypto blockchain shills, AI slop enthusiasts, Web 3.0 grifters, Elon Musk worshippers, but then it expanded to label a broader group of people, such as software developers, the FOSS community, and Linux users in general instead, as if to attack anyone who isn't a retarded computer illiterate and to associate them together with the aforementioned groups under a negative connotation/light like as if they are all the same people. I guess there are a lot of well-known tech YouTubers who could perpetuate this idea.

Thats not any different from what op posted. Op is feeling old and cringe is all I wouldnt even take this seriously especially if they took time to write every single one like as if he was hunting them down rather than simply ignoring it like a normal adult. Every generation has their lingo and starts to dunk on the new gen for their "weird and obnoxious" ebonics. Past, present and future generations all share common traditions, traits and interests. We operate in cycles. In the next 15 years. Some new version of the web will take form and somebody just like op will complain about the new ebonics and will say "back in my day we used to meme and we let each cook when we had a good idea"
