Reclusive types and Web 2.0 holdouts are a mixed bag personality-wise, agreed. There are a couple 'comfy' boards that survive, but I suspect the moderation is heavy handed (borderline toxic positivity or you get the boot). Also they tend to be slice-of-life anime theme for people that can't handle loud noises so it's very niche.
