Topic: I feel like I've lost it all
+Anonymous A — 1.5 year ago #64,968
I just wanna experience things I don't get to experience.
I'm stuck in a cycle I really want to get out of, doing the same old routines, slowly destroying my life.
I feel so jaded, washed out, almost senile.
What are other people up to these days? Why do I have to be an outsider?
I wish I had something good to say.
It feels like I'm in some sort of mental flesh prison.
It's like I'm enslaving myself, but I always refrain myself from trying new things that seem scary or suspicous to me.
Maybe I wish I was young again, but was it only because of how we get to meet and talk to people in schools? Whereas adults don't do that to strangers, except at work?
Was it more fun back then because we were more naïve or less indoctrinated?
I do know for a fact I rarely smiled as a child, but I still laughed when I was playing dumb on a regular basis.
I'm not sure if I can make new friends anymore. Too difficult to trust anyone, I'd rather just wanna stay away from them.
Is this all because of closed ecosystems, how they prevent us from seeing the bigger picture, to further exploit us as much as possible?

Maybe I should put more effort into doing things that are considered useless/pointless?

This is the biggest reason I'm going to live in the woods, to get away from people.

> was it only because of how we get to meet and talk to people in schools?
yes
> Whereas adults don't do that to strangers, except at work?
work pretty much forces you to be friends with people by sticking you together based on what the company needs you to do and if you don't get along hr gets involved
> Was it more fun back then because we were more naïve or less indoctrinated?
yes, both

If it's a matter of trust, use the filters to your advantage. Like if you're into cars, say Mustangs or whatever, the other people will have to be invested enough to have one too. Same with most hobbies, it really cuts down on randos and scammers if you need skin in the game - use that to your advantage. Gym memberships, hiking gear, wine tasting - have to pay to play.

Because good old days ended in 2010 and this era is just empty and fake. But if you feel really empty try some hobbies in some club.

Its a combination of what everyone else on here as already said. Its easier to meet new people and make friendships when you're young because we're only thinking having fun and goofing off. Because as you get older you experience moments of self awareness and start to develop a rationale. Everyone thinks their experience is unique but in reality its more or less the same. you hurt people, people hurt you and a cycle develops. almost everyone wants the same thing but either we're: too lazy, too distrustful, too needy, too dissatisfied, etc etc. The closest thing to an answer is to go outside and experience the world around you. You have to repeat the same thing you did as child but be much more aware of how you go about it. I kinda like what E said about filters because in truth thats really the bulk of adult relationships. pay to play. pay to go to a hobby meet up or a draw & sip, pay to meet like minded people who are into paintball. In someway it sucks because it involes money but unless you're lucky to dedicated group gamers who like being indoors but socialize you're gonna have to go out and explore.

Everyone's just daydreaming about having a good life through the use of media and other goods, but nothing interesting ever happens, it's a constant battle between expectation vs. reality until you're out of optimistic expectations.
We've been conditioned to believe that the act of becoming rich and extravagant equates to ‘living the dream’.

What matters to me the most in life is the feeling of accomplishment by working hard, even if you don't earn money from it (but perhaps you'll end up making friends who can support you later on). But I'm not sure if I even want to make more friends because it seems as if I would end up causing more trouble.

Tinychan is a recruitment site for the FEL. How do you feel about ending the human race?

The Forced Euthanasia Lobby. It's a doomsday cult with the stated goal of exterminating all humans.
