horrendous. i've using tiktok for more than three years and at this point i'm really tired of it. only sucks your time and focus. ofc it's not that bad if you know how to control your tiktok consumption or you don't get hooked up that easily :') for me... i had to uninstall it :v

You can upload a video up to 10 minutes long now. 10 second videos can be made in 10 seconds but people usually play with filters for a while. No harm in that.

"Everybody else is doing it" has never been a good reason. People said the same thing about Facebook and I didn't listen, now what do you know- kids don't care about Facebook. It's all just a trend cycle. It's a matter of differentiating actual advancements that will permanently change how we live our lives (like cell phones) from things which sound like advancements but which are really just technological novelties (NFTs, anyone?).

We'll still continue to get tokslop even if TikTok is banned. Only difference is that it'll just be posted on other platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc...). The effects TikTok had on online content consumption won't be go away from this.

I think at some point we will have to admit normie stuff appeals to most of the population by definition. Most people I meet in public, work with, or are related to like this app. There is nothing I want to hear less in the breakroom than normies prancing around with filters and trying to be snarky but this has struck a chord with most humans. I anxiously await all of the moms and grandpas piling in over the next few years, it won't be cool anymore, and maybe I can have some peace in public again.
