Like most organized religions only care about control over their believers.
And it's not like we're just a random chance in the vast and expanding universe.
There has to be something out there. God, the force, what have you.
Honestly, it just makes sense to be spiritually aligned.

People who make themselves guru,prophets,priests and another kind of teachers are always hunger for power or lazy to do normal job. Yes they someway care until you want to leave their herd or not want to be part of that herd at first place.
