As someone who has never owned a cat and a major large dog person. Multiple girlfriends have had cats and cats can be interesting. Even dog like. OK Just one was. Love animals in general and several make good eating.

My old cat was very dog-like with affection.

Our new cats are good at finding bugs, but not so good at stopping them. They found out that dead bugs are no fun so they stopped attacking them.

Watching a cat play with spiders can be a lot of fun. I think they are aware they could kill the spider quickly yet just play and play carefully with them.
So many fun images including short videos to locate - just a quick example and back to work

Our spiders are just run-of-the-mill house spiders, so they're too small and out of the way to be of any interest to the cats. It's the carpenter ants (and occasional roaches) that get their attention.
