NEW YORK

WALL Street showed no clear trend yesterday in a bouncing session as traders awaited tomorrow's monthly report on employment.

The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials dropped 4.46 to close at 2,333.75.

Advanced issues outnumbered declines by about 7 to 6 on the New York Stock Exchange, with 755 up, 648 down and 546 unchanged.

Volume totaled 183.43 million shares, against 215.64 million in the previous session.

Brokers noted some uneasiness over the impending report from the Labor Department on the US employment situation for January.

The data is expected to show a strong increase in payroll employment. Such a development, many fear, could lead to the Federal Reserve tightening credit.

However, hopes have spread of late on Wall Street that interest rates are close to peaking out and may decline later in the year.

The day's losers included Quaker Oats, Eastman Kodak and Alcoa.

On the upside, were Digital Equipment, UAL and Lockheed. - Wire services.

My money is on this company because they are on the forefront of computers for anyone.
Plus they often did do-loops.

That light that keeps flashing on and off. Is that to distract viewers from a less than desirable something?
