i still recall some friends mocking me for having a bit of wealth and like "you have bedcover so you must be rich dungus" when i said yes to their trick question of "do you have that thing that covers your bed" which is a fucking blanket obviously
then they got more and more violent to the point of being unfriendable... what is that about?

Jealousy I guess? Some people seem to think there's some sort of dishonor in having a stable life. (No offense to Wade; but he's also not a dick to people for not being drifters.)
I mean, I can understand getting pissed over people with $750k homes and Rolls Royces and shit, but what's wrong with a 3-bedroom home in suburbia and a mid-size Toyota? How is scraping by in a 1-bedroom apartment and 5-owner rust bucket somehow honorable?

I am. And that's stupid of them to try to trip you up with the difference between a blanket and like a duvet or something, which is what I'm assuming they were trying to get you to say, that you have some fancy ass bed cover or something. Some comedian, I think it was Katt Williams, put it like this: people that don't get nice shit for long enough start seeing the nice shit that people have and hating it, so they try to belittle it so they can feel better about themselves for not having it
