Because you're not a child any more. You are an adult who is able to take control of the situation. All those things you mentioned would only happen if you continued to let them happen. The realisation in her that her behaviour requires modification can (and will) take place only if you establish the rules and stick to them.

To start with: 1. No, it is not ok to beat me, whatever you think the reason is.

If she tries, you need to grab her by the wrists, sit her down and say "Stop. Calm down". Treat her like a four year old who is just learning good behaviour.

Your immediate reaction to this, I'm sure is "lol, you don't understand, that's just not how things work with her/my family". But I repeat: You are now the adult. You are in control. You can make up the new rules. If you are consistent, she will eventually learn - it's never too late.

Finally, consider that you, an expert on her behaviour, are possibly the only person who would really be able to help her.

Thank you. I'm doing much better these days, after a fair amount of therapy and cutting contact with her.
For what it's worth, I do hope she does get help. But she won't. Every relative and family friend she stayed with in India - and there were a lot - tried to get her help and she rejected it. It turns out her brother lives in Toronto (when I was a kid he lived in the same city as me, has kids around my age, and wanted to have a relationship with me but she wouldn't allow it. I had no idea - she'd mentioned a brother but I thought he was dead or in India or something) and he's offered to help her get on her feet. He and his wife helped her a bit while she was in India and she was...not gracious about it. Example, they sent her an old cell phone. She couldn't figure out the passcode (which they had told her), or how to unlock it (call the provider, they're legally obligated to unlock it upon request) or something. She insisted they were taunting her and called them many terrible things. So I can't imagine she'll be any more gracious in person and I don't know how long her brother's good-will will last against that sort of verbal abuse in person. Not sure what she'll do after that, since she refuses to get a job (because anything she's qualified for - ie, entry level - she considers beneath her) and she's too proud to apply for welfare. Oh well. She refuses to help herself and is a bitch to anyone who tries to help her. That's her bed she's made.

When you cut an apple in half, there are twi sides.Sounds like Triptych was an incorrigible child and she resents her mother having to go to great lengths to discipline her angsty ways.
The troubled wayward child had to be sent to a boarding school because she was such a terror and could not be controlled at home.

What we dont know is if there were previously additional places she was also sent to try and deal with her that were unsuccessful in dealing with her chronic behavior problems before that. I suspect there was.

Remember how psychotic she acted when first posted here? She seemed like an off unbalanced certifiable dingbat.
Only a fool would believe this situation was as one sided as she desperately wants us to believe it is.

You know why I was sent to boarding school? I received a detention in tenth grade (my second detention ever - my first was in grade four). My mother flipped her shit and decided that the school board had a conspiracy against me. She refused to allow me to attend any public school in the city. As such I was forced to do online schooling (like distance education I guess?). She even tried to sue the school board. My parents got into it in family court as my dad wanted to take custody of me and have me fly over and live with him and go to school there. Then my mom suddenly agrees that I can go to boarding school (and this wasn't a boarding school for "troubled children". Quite the opposite. They had rigorous academic testing for admissions and only accepted a few applicants each year). We think she said that because those schools are fucking expensive, so she expected my dad to say "no" so she could use that to make him look bad in family court. Except, of course, he said yes. She tried to sabotage things there (yes, she moved from my hometown to a province and a half away to where my boarding school was - and later halfway across the country to where I went to university). The boarding school admin even offered to have her banned from campus. By that point her delusions had reached the point where she'd regularly say that the reporters on TV were sending her messages, she had worked for Bush and Obama...

At least one person here has hated me since I've rejected his advances and will pounce on any excuse, no matter how fragile or even fictional, to shit on me.
Others I suspect just like being mean to people for any reason because it distracts them from how bad they feel about themselves.
As egotistical as it sounds, some may choose me as a target because I've been relatively successful and a large part of this userbase is...not.
Others, perhaps, because they share the same mental problems as my mom - or just generally act like dicks to people - and feel resentful that someone would choose not to help people who behave like that. People like that feel entitled to endless help, meaning whatever they request, from people who they also use as a verbal, emotional, and/or physical punching bag. Seeing these punching bags disagree and refuse to serve os an offensive idea to them.
