He can't stand up for himself in losing arguments, he never actually does what he threatens out of rage, he obsesses over Syntax to the point where it seems he has a spectacular hard-on for the guy. I just can't wrap my head around his incredibly immature and self-defeating behavior.
Maybe he's a closeted homosexual and he's battling his urges? I imagine that's how a "southern gentleman" would behave if they were going through such struggles.
