With the exception of a Chinese technique to marinating meat - The Marinade does not in any way tenderize the meat. And albeit the Chinese way does - One wood NOT WANT to do that to a Good steak
Just adds flavor - I DONT and mostly because on the Bar-B-Q wayyyy to much flame flare up but I sure do season the meat before I put it on the grill
