It was during this week 53 years ago in 1967, that Ian Anderson and a couple of friends put together a new band. They called the band Jethro Tull.
Remember when concerts looked like this, no 8,000 lights in the light show, it didn't take 27 semi's to move the show, just a stage, a band and great music. Oh yeah, tickets would set you back about 3 bucks. Here's an early picture of Jethro Tull to show what we mean. The good old days.

It just so happens I attended the public premiere in Georgetown, DC, when that movie was rereleased in 2000 (with extra footage that was not in the original). Afterwards, went to have look at those stairs (down which Father Karras takes a tumble). They are steep and scary.

Yeah I made a point of visiting the steps when I visited DC. As you say, very steep and, given the history, really quite creepy when the sun's gone down.

As for the "extra footage" you mentioned, that's probably the version that is now released as the 'extended cut' of the film. To be honest I prefer the original cut. While I think Regan's medical exam and infamous spiderwalk scene should have been included in the original, I'm not a fan of how they made the subliminal Satanic imagery much less, well, subliminal.

By the way, a little known fact: the radiologist in the movie who examines Regan was a real doctor who a few years later would be convicted of murdering a journalist. He was also suspected of being a serial killer who murdered gay men in Manhattan, although that latter claim was never proven.

By "rile you up", he was trying to elicit an older posting style of yours, when you argued with people and went :)))) a lot, not...actual anger. People missed those posts I guess. Personally I was happy to see you be mellower and think it was kind of childish, but they were funny and clever posts.
And I understand and respect your decision, but I do want you to know he didn't mean to strike a nerve with the Doctor thing and apologises for it. I want to add, for context, that none of the MC regulars saw what went down between you two - since that happened on TC - so didn't know it was a touchy subject for you. KL was going for a light-hearted dig in the hopes of eliciting some of your old smackdown-style posts, and instead really hit a nerve and ran you off. He's sorry for that. We miss you.
KL apologises sincerely and promises not to try to annoy you or mention the contentious issue. (I have the mental image of a kid poking a cat until the cat gets sick of it and scratches the kid, then the kid just sits there open-mouthed in shock at being reprised). Semi-frequently in the ~secret back channels~ several mods and users talk about how they/we miss you.

Serious question: why, in certain situations, do you take these boards so seriously? Clearly you were getting annoyed for a while and he - inadvertently - struck a nerve which pushed you over the edge (to be frank, I - and I assume many of us - still don't really know/understand the deal between you and The Doctor, but that doesn't matter as much as knowing that it's clearly quite serious for you.
