Satellites are mostly brand new and need much much less attention from me - Crew in Louisianan deals mostly with them and for a new unique reason regarding their design I will end up with more MUCH more work in future so just waiting - I have four of the Original fleet still up and in use and I am the only one with experience with them - If I die then crew will just put them in parking space and decommission -

I like to imagine things, stories; and I'm thinking about an old man sitting in his station, coffee on the side, looking at the screen trough his glasses, taking care of a system very few know, but very important indeed.

First Gen design - 7.5 year life design and when one considers my old 4 were put up BY ME back in 1998/99 and still working
Alas just one part did not like the Nuke Environment of space and failed YET other critical stuff worked so that you can buy a Panic Button and go hiking or mountain climbing and push button for GEO Locate so they can dispatch help 2U and it's dirt cheap to buy
New Fleet is almost exactly the same with more fuel to keep them up - Of course a LOT more than simple fuel is used to keep them in place
I still do fix it in space with New Gen Direct TV type Sats but far less often - NO New Engineers have a Clue about TWT transmission systems - Very FEW engineers learn Microwave stuff and even lower Freq RF is just not taught in schools in USA anymore with RARE Exceptions - Lucky to get on paragraph in a text book

Couple I have worked with are just that - Including one from another country that failed to work from get go and it was a Spy Imaging Satellite that they could not get to work because they could see ALL was ok in the Telemetry output except the Receiver section to connect in2 the Satellite failed to respond nor could they from telemetry see why.
Before I got the first of Fleet UP - I needed something UP in space to play with to be sure I could track a moving 17,500 MPH Satellite in space and play with it and of course it had to have a receiver that wood accept the Freq range I had to work with for a 10 Mega Watt hit from my Command n Control Dish in Dubbo Australia - Also had one up and working in Texas and at Qualcomm in Mira Mesa - Only thing I could find that fit my Specs was this dead in space yet brand new Spy in space - Got permission to fuck with it because no harm no foul - Shocked when I found a way to super penetrate by over blasting the bugger by surrounding its body with a blast of RF - Unstuck whatever was stuck and then about a month later in play discovered the Imaging was NOT encrypted at all
I zooomed in on just one part of planet and then said yikes best I return it to owner - Got sum kind of reward which I never did redeem - A bunch of free travel on Airlines Gov owned but I was already flying wayyyyy to much and for free and the last thing I wanted was more travel anywhere A few cases of Champagne which of course was enjoyed by all - Again I could order all of that for free - At Qualcomm Fridgs loaded with Beer and Champagne at all times to enjoy for all kinds of company celebrations -
By the way the Telemetry from my old fleet n new fleet is totally open for view and takes not much equipment to look at it. Even the Antenna for a home receiver is simple to construct on a cardboard paper towel cylinder -
Of course the Command n Control codes are very much Encrypted - Even if they were open the codes necessary for me to just turn off a heater with off on switch is one hell of a loooong process with the Satellite keeps asking me AM I SURE I want to do that - and it asks me about 9 times that question with a different question to be sure I am paying attention and that I am so sure I will bust my ass just to make this one decision
